State of the Union to Fashion Week
Time to play a bit of catch up (again):
This past weekend, Rebecca and Leslie were in town. My roommate and I met up with them at the Archives and headed over to Hill Country to try out this little bit of Texas that everyone here keeps talking about. For the record, it was totally worth it. I had barbecue chicken, mac n cheese, cornbread, and a soda for lunch...and then there was dessert. Hill Country is the only place north/east where you can get Blue Bell, so obviously that was needed. By the end of lunch, we were all stuffed and headed off to an afternoon at the Natural History Museum. We ended the night sitting around and talking in Union Station before Leslie caught her train home. It was kind of a perfect DC Saturday.
Oh and back tracking a bit more, have I mentioned how strange/awesome it was to be watching the State of the Union from a few blocks from where it was all taking place? I'll avoid talking politics, but the experience in general was surreal. (Also, Comcast sucks.)
The other big thing this weekend was that I finally bought my tickets for NYC...so that's a thing that is happening. I will be sleeping on the floor of Jeffrey and Jeremy West, hanging out with Megan, and documenting Fashion Week for Polished. I am so stoked for my first MBFW/SBFW, and so stoked to be covering them for Polished. Also, I mean, it's NEW YORK CITY.
