Happy Pride y'all! Stay safe!
Look at these beauties that came to my house today! (Okay, okay, they really got here a few days ago, but I am terrible about checking the mailbox…)
Eccentric Orbits hard copy, from our community’s wonderful @usedtobehmc with cover art by the amazing @gingerhaole — and the monthly Patreon postcard from the latter with the same art!
I love this story so much. And the cover art is just breathtaking. These are going to take a center spot in my Good Omens fan work collection.
Good Omens: The good old days ...
Remember when the most angst generated by this fandom was "waking the snake"? Me, too.
He’ll probably get a commendation from Hell for all this crap. See you in October, Crowley.
for @gingerhaole's DTIYS! ❤
(here's a link, in case y'all want to dtiys ☆)
First post of the year and it’s a WAHOO kind of post! I’ll file this under “dreams come true”, I’ll SLAM-DUNK it in that magical folder with no hesitation whatsoever. Here’s the collab between me and my beloved @gingerhaole and I couldn’t be happier. When she asked me if I felt like adding lineart and colors to her gorgeous sketch I just about happily cried. OF COURSE I yelled Y E S and here’s the result! The colors I ended up adding to the piece are pretty different from the ones she first sketched, but I really like how two artists can give a completely different mood to the same picture 💚
WAHEY! recently, the ever-lovely @gingerhaole asked me to color one of her pieces, and HOW could i say no? it was an absolute joy to do! i hope y’all love this ineffable beach day as much as i loved colorin’ it! 🏖
Today it’s my honor to share a collab with a dear soul who is also a source of constant artistic inspiration: @gingerhaole!
Lily offered me the most beautifully delicate portrait to color, one that really highlights her skill at rendering aesthetically balanced faces and hair, along with an overwhelming feeling of tenderness. It looked like the artistic embodiment of a gentle spring breeze, one that demanded a lush floral palette.
I learned from this that being on the finishing side of a collab can feel a whole lot more stressful than beginning it. When I bounced my lines off to Jen and Ran, I was just excited to see what they would do! But when I first started working on this, I thought, “Aw hell, the pressure’s on now to honor this drawing properly - don’t fuck it up, Sam!!” Fortunately, rendering this was *easy* (a rare feeling for me); something about it was so intuitive, the whole thing came together in just a few hours. Must’ve been that solid foundation to work with!
