The first time Sherlock and John end up in bed it's not slow, but quick and exciting. The release valve for several years of tension. One tumbling over the other while they kiss and shift and tug--
"John," Sherlock pants out a warning once John's rolled on top of him, kissing down his neck.
"John, I've never--"
"I know."
John pulls his shirt open and kisses squarely over his heart before his fingers search lower.
"Don't worry. I'll take care of us."
And hold me like we're dying from the liquor that we drank Down in hotel rooms, to feel warm in cold love
It's the 16th anniversary of bbc-sherlock??

One of six new artworks I’m currently working on for a book about the history of the Elves to be published by Legendaria Ediciones.
Three Times - (2024)
Three times Sherlock and John couldn't resist kissing in the London means of transportation.
Sorry.
I will never get over how soft and gentle Sherlock is with John here. He just wants John back in his life so badly
“spicy pillow” jokes aside, I think @flowerkrone’s tags deserve a serious reply:
#my old phone looks like this on my shelf lmao #im too scared to touch it to throw it away #idk what trash this even goes into when its at this point
The pillow-shaped object here used to be the phone’s battery. It’s not a battery anymore. Now it’s a balloon full of corrosive, pyrophoric chemicals and hydrogen gas and it’s one puncture away from burning your house down. I am 100% serious. You should be scared to touch it.
But you gotta touch it, because you gotta get it out of your house before the pressure builds up to the point where the balloon pops. This isn’t going to happen soon – there is no need to panic – but it will happen eventually.
And, indeed, it doesn’t go in the ordinary trash. You put this in the ordinary trash and you’re gonna set the garbage truck on fire. Don’t do that to the garbage collectors, their job is hard enough already.
The first thing you need to do is get a fireproof container. The most common household item that qualifies as a fireproof container is a cast-iron cookpot with a cast-iron lid – often sold as a “Dutch oven.” Any other cooking container that’s unreactive, has a very high melting point, and has a lid made of the same materials will also work: enameled or stainless steel, Pyrex with glass lid, etc.
However: Do not use a pot with a PTFE-based non-stick coating. If the battery does explode, the fire will probably be hot enough to degrade a PTFE coating, producing toxic smoke. (Not that you should breathe the smoke from the battery fire either, but PTFE breakdown products are worse.) Do not use a pot made of aluminium or copper. The fire might even get hot enough to melt those.
Whatever container you use, you might have to throw away along with the phone, so don’t use your good Dutch oven for this. Go to a thrift store and buy a cheap one.
Once you have the fireproof container:
Gently pick up the phone and put it in the fireproof container. If possible, gently tape the phone to the bottom of the container to prevent it from bouncing around. Don’t put any padding in there, that’ll just make a fire worse if it does happen. Put the lid on and tape it shut.
Put a label on the container, something like “DEFECTIVE LI-ION BATTERY – FIRE HAZARD”.
It is now reasonably safe to move the container around. However, if the battery does explode, the container is very likely to leak smoke and get hot, so keep it in a well-ventilated area and away from things that will be damaged by heat. Don’t leave it exposed to the weather, either.
You need to find either a hazardous waste disposal site, or an e-waste recycler that will accept defective Li-ion batteries. I can’t help with that because I have no idea where you live.
However, your local fire department, if you have one, will probably be happy to help. Call their non-emergency number. Nothing is on fire yet, so this isn’t an emergency, but things that can easily start a fire are still within the fire department’s responsibilities. Tell them you have a phone with a bulging lithium-ion battery, you put it in a fireproof container, and you want to know how to dispose of it safely.
If the fire department tries to tell you this isn’t dangerous or it’s okay to throw it out in the regular trash (with or without fireproof container), hang up on them and write a cranky letter to your local government representatives, then keep looking for a proper disposal site.
When you do find a a hazardous waste disposal site or an e-waste recycler, call them and make sure they will take defective Li-ion batteries, before showing up. That’s also a good time to ask if they will let you have the fireproof container back.

Reblogging because I would have had absolutely no idea what to do, either.
So that last piece was a delight to make. (It was supposed to be queued, but whatever).
@marta-bee requested bees with Sherlock and Mycroft. It was so fun to chunk together.
The hardest part was Mycroft’s shirt. There are sooo many pieces of shirts, and getting it the same colour as everything else was annoying! (But genuinely fun because annoying is delightful)
Sherlock’s face had a bunch of different pieces, mostly to make him look down.
Mycroft’s face is basically unchanged except for colour correction, and I added Mycroft’s pink tie instead of the black one on the sample suit.
I have a bunch of the references on my computer, I’ll dig them up and post them another time.
I found some samples!
I don't always keep them all, most of them go directly to the document, but I did track down a few that I saved to my desktop.
Sherlock was made of these two pictures. The thing about Sherlock is that you cannot flip his images. The part in his hair is too strong, so if I find a perfect face, I'll usually have to find a second face fix the hair. I liked sherlock's expression in the first image better, but I actually altered his smile just a bit. I really think the original is a little awkward, so I just changed an angle and moved the corner of it into a minutely better position. Hard to tell, but it is genuinely more natural to me.
I forgot, I did actually edit Mycroft's image. It is just a little too sad/bored feeling in this image. So I did a little image manipulation I like to call "Smudge tool till it looks like a smile". It is the super stupid easy way to get close and then I blend it with other parts of his face.
These are the arms I used. They were actually fairly easy to do. Arms usually have a whole lot of sleeve covering them, so in order to blend them, you just need a sleeve and a destination image. I was a total cheat because the elbow is where it gets difficult to match... so i just cropped it away and saved me an hour editing.
This is the sample I used for Mycroft's suit. the arm of his suit came from a different source, which I'm kicking myself that I didn't colour match a little better.
I made the collection of bees out of a bunch of samples, there are actually a few layers of bees just at different opacities, but it is all this same layer repeated. And the honeycomb was a super easy drop.
Those are all the reference I found. More of them were just merged into layers when I copy pasted them into the photoshop file. Hope this was interesting
8-10 hours on this one. Casual and fun.
omg LOVE knowing the process!!!!!
Good Omens Fan Fiction Friday (2/28/25) - Alt Season 3 Speculation
Following the ending of Good Omens season 2, desperate fans brought all their creativity to imagining what season 3 could look like. And they created some AMAZING and EPIC works.
Many of them began with a drunk and destructive Crowley left to make sense of Aziraphale returning to heaven. Eventually, the pair find themselves working together to avert the Second Coming (not always after reconciling). And then follows chapters of action-oriented, plot-driven, high-drama fan fiction. This list is not about those fics. (But someone else definitely needs to recommend a bunch of them in their own post.)
Instead, I'm recommending the quirky, alternative views of what might have happened after the final 15. These are fics where Crowley is less self-destructive. Where the action is generally toned down. Where feelings matter more than the plot.
In other words, these are the speculative season 3 fics that zig when everyone else zags.
Let's start with a silly one--Kidnapping a Supreme Archangel for Fun and Profit (T) by @waitingtobebroken. This four-part series has Crowley becoming Grand Duke of Hell. And befitting his high office, Crowley sets about tormenting the Supreme Archangel Aziraphale--by force-feeding him sushi, holding him by the hand to keep him from escaping, and leading him on a forced march through the park. How evil!
A longtime favorite of mine is But You Are An Ocean (T) by megzseattle/ @ineffably-good. Rather than fall apart, Crowley moves to the South Downs himself and becomes a "project" for the locals to befriend. Our ineffable pair are eventually reunited but without fireworks and flaming swords. And it's just a delight.
I'm breaking my own category by including the action-packed Down/Up (M) by @klikandtuna. I can't tell you more without spoiling the story. But you won't regret reading this story of BAMF!Crowley and BAMF!Aziraphale. It's a unique and fascinating take that still fits with this theme. Mind the content warnings.
In Among the Stacks (NR) by MeinirRhos/ @rhosmeinir, Crowley senses Aziraphale for a year after he returns to heaven. Until, one day, he doesn't. After moving on the best he can, Crowley finds Aziraphale is working in a library. Or is he?
And here's my exception to avoiding drunk Crowley--don't let this darkness fool you (M) by @mygalfriday. The Mayfair flat is a disaster zone when Shax shows up with a fallen Aziraphale. Everything about the Second Coming is extraneous when it comes to our demon caring for his angel.
Finally, Ginger_Cat/ @gingiekittycat wrote a long one-shot that hints at the epic speculative season 3 they would write in Prelude to an Epic (T). Crowley takes the role of Duke of Hell strictly to get the last word with Aziraphale. Instead, he finds himself in--well, a prelude to an epic story of heaven and hell. Can't give much away without spoiling the story. But this would be a good work to pair with Down/Up.
I'll be back next Friday with more recs on an entirely idiosyncratic theme. Follow and reblog to keep track.
And check out previously recommended fics on my pinned post of weekly Good Omens fan fiction recommendations
Seems like a good time to reblog this list. There were some wonderful speculations about season 3. I see no reason not to read them now.
25: From Douglas Richardson
Surely Sherlock knows Douglas’s goal Was to pass along something he stole. But John says he thinks That pouring the drinks Will be an enjoyable role.
I’ve written some crossover fics Where Sherlock and MJN mix. So if your Cabin Pressure Could use a refresher, You might want to read them for kicks.
'Tis a Gift is on AO3.
I wonder if you think you know What gift that could be? Well, if so, Please share it with me And fill me with glee By putting your guess down below!
