T5W - Authors I would like to meet
So I’ve decided to join on the Top 5 Wednesday bandwagon. It was originally created by Lainey from Gingerreadslainey but is now hosted by Sam from Thoughts on Tombs. This weeks topic is authors you would like to meet at BEA. Seeing as I am not going and do not particularly read a lot of YA, I thuoght I would change it slightly and just talk about authors in general.
5) George R.R. Martin - mostly to maybe get some writing tips from him, like how he manages to create such complex worlds and characters the way he does in the Song of Ice and Fire series (only on the second book, currently)
4) Stephen King - I enjoy his books. I would like to learn a lot about his writing, his ideas and other typical author-related questions. I do plan on reading On Writing by him as I do have a copy. Just need to get around to it
3) JK Rowling - kind of a no brainer really, she is amazing at what she does and her tweets are amazing. The sass is real, guys. I’ve read both the Harry Potter series and will soon be starting the third Cormoran Strike novel
2) Michelle Magorian - She is the writer of Goodnight Mister Tom (one of my favourite books of all time - I think I forgot to mention it in my last post). I’ve also read Just Henry by her. There are both very good books in my opinion and I would like to tell her this in person if I ever got the chance
1) Sharon (also known as S.J) Bolton - so far I have read two of her books (Now You See Me and Like This, For Ever) and both had completed messed with my head and, well, it’s brilliant. I hope to continue the Lacey Flint books soon.
