A Gintama episode a day keeps the ending away...Episode 67
It’s another two chapters in one episode deal, but I kinda think it was slightly disrespectful to Sacchan for putting the Noriko chapter right in front of hers...sure, that’s the order of the chapters in the manga, but they could have easily switched stuff around out of respect.
MY 8 FAVORITE MOMENTS IN EPISODE 67 (manga chaps 87 and 88):
1) Zenzou just looked so damn good for some reason. That’s definitely the first time I thought he was sexy.
2) Poor Hasegawa...it was such a sweet gesture for their 10th year anniversary, but Noriko screwed it up by being just a crappy delivery person (I really didn’t like her character...in the manga or the anime).
3) I just love it when Okita has a cameo in an episode.
4) Loved Sacchan’s phone...that modified Sharingan was not in the manga so that was a nice touch by the anime team. I’m sure she could have gotten a better picture of Gin-chan, but it’s rather endearing that she loves him no matter what gross thing he’s doing.
5) That’s me whenever Gintoki....
6) The doc’s meta diagnosis.
7) Sacchan looked cute and sexy at the same time in that moment.
8) I was so proud of her...she did so well even though she was mostly blind.
SHIPS TALLY:
Gintoki x Sacchan: I’m kinda surprised Gintoki was able to resist her sexy nurse charms.
Zenzou x Sacchan: I mean, they’re pretty much canon just from that, right?
Gintoki x Zenzou: well, Shinpachi, Kagura, Otose, Hasegawa, and Catherine believes they’re canon.
Gintoki x Noriko: apologies to Saito-san of Tokyo, who created Noriko, but she was kinda annoying so I’m glad this was a one and done deal and we never saw her again.
Hasegawa x Hatsu: he made an A+ effort, he just commissioned the wrong delivery service.
Gintoki x Okita: because Sougo was genuinely concerned for Gin-chan’s safety.
Gintoki x Kagura: why was she so pissed off about seeing Gintoki and Zenzou engaging in candle-play?
Zenzou x Needle: canon.
Zenzou x Oden: canon.
Zenzou x Candle: canon...probably married by now.

A Gintama chapter a day keeps the ending away...Lesson 699
Oh lookee, my two OTPs, GinHiji and OkiKagu are next to each other! What a lovely way to start the new chapter in its new home!
MY 13 FAVORITE MOMENTS IN LESSON 699:
So much Joui love! Felt like more than we got in the entire series put together. NOT AT ALL COMPLAINING. Now I wonder when the next chapter will be...at the same time, I’m just glad we will have a next chapter. Thank the gods and Sorachi-sama!
1) I didn’t get it (cuz I’m not into DBZ) but I thought it was totes adorable.
2) I just like it when Takasugi joins in on the silly antics. Really liking this post-hatred version of him.
3) Ugh, my heart.
4) The first of many Joui hand-holding moments in this chapter, and it just warmed my heart. Our Joui boys worked so hard to get here. This was so earned that I couldn’t help getting emotional over it.
5) So sweet.
6) I really really hope they get a chance to talk to their sensei properly. They deserve to.
7) Those smiles were just LOVE.
8) SO PROUD OF THESE TWO! I mean, look at how badass they look!
9) Not a favorite moment at all, but more like creepy AF moment. But I still want each of the gang to fight one Utsuro of their own as a means to destroy him once and for all.
10) Dear sweet Zura, being wise and insightful as usual, totally saying out loud the exact reason why Gintoki and Takasugi left their families behind two years ago.
11) Loved this. It looked like they were performing synchronized dancing.
12) Another hand-holding moment and Gintoki’s desperate expression to get Takasugi to safety just really gripped my heart.
13) A painful near hand-holding moment. I’m not really worried for Takasugi because I have faith that he would survive that wound, but this still made me clench up.
SHIPS TALLY:
Gintoki x Takasugi x Zura: I mean, the whole chapter was practically about how much these boys loved each other.
Gintoki x Takasugi: Gin-chanc could have been talking about everyone, but considering the flashback featured, it’s obvious he was really just talking about Takasugi. It was so damn touching one could say they’re pretty much canon based on just his words.
Gintoki x Zura: I know Gintoki was supporting Zura because he was injured, but all the touching was still cute.
Gintoki x Hijikata: I THINK Hijikata was talking specifically about Gintoki. I don’t care I’m still counting it.
Okita x Kagura: they’re next to each other. That’s all I need.
Gintoki x Tsukuyo: I could be wrong but if feels like this is the first time Tsukky has been this blatant about her feelings towards Gintoki in front of others. Up until this moment, I think she’s only said things like this to Hinowa. I’m glad Sacchan was able to take it in stride...or maybe it’s because she felt the same way.
Gintoki x Zenzou: so Zenzou kept all the issues for him in these past two years? How freaking sweet is that? Must be love.
Gintoki x Sacchan: she was surprisingly more subdued than usual since she didn’t even mention Gintoki by name, but I’m pretty sure that’s who she was talking about.
Zenzou x Sacchan: I mean, I WISH she was talking about being between Zenzou’s legs, but I guess I have to settle for their playful banter instead. And if his crotch is blood-covered, I don’t blame her for wanting to stay away.
Kyuubei x Otae (or Kyuubei x Shinpachi): Kyuu-chan was looking at both siblings, and since she used the plural, I guess both pairings apply?

MY 5 FAVORITE MOMENTS IN EPISODE 63 (manga chap 124):
Many apologies to Zenzou: this was originally HIS chapter, revolving around him, but then the anime team decided to add our beloved Yorozuya to the mix and so, well, it become mostly about the Yorozuya to me. Sorry Hattori-san!
1) This random exchange between Gintoki and Kagura about Okuni.
2) The best bodyguards in Edo.
3) I love Kagura-chan.
4) My Yorozuya babies were starving so much it broke my heart seeing them desperately scarf down food. I wish they never had to go hungry.
5) Zenzou’s relationship with Okuni was so sweet. We never see her again but I’d like to think he dropped in to see how she was doing once in a while, even if he stayed in the shadows doing it.
SHIPS TALLY:
Gintoki x Zenzou: this moment, where Zenzou totally intruded into Gin-chan’s personal space, wasn’t in the manga. Gintoki also looks oddly sexy eating that cheese.
Zenzou x Scooter: I think Gintoki’s scooter had a thing for Zenzou’s ass.

A Gintama episode a day keeps the ending away...Episode 44
MY 8 FAVORITE MOMENTS IN EPISODE 44 (manga chaps 67, 68 and 69):
1) The ninja squad’s reaction to Zura’s failure at stealing porn.
2) Not in the manga: Gintoki just had his toe up some dude’s naked butthole, his toe is clearly soiled, WHY WAS HE SMELLING IT??? Gin-chan is so fucking weird sometimes.
3) Poor Elizabethsu!
4) This elaborate obstacle course was not in the manga...there was a version of an obstacle course in the chapter but it was relatively simple...like Indiana Jones level only...and Gintoki and Zura were the ones setting off the traps while the others just watched them. Loved this change in the anime.
5) The Shinobi Five...not as cool as the Ninja Squad Five but they tried.
6) The result of their face off was utterly disgusting and hilarious.
7) Either way, loved that Zura was being very supportive with his Lamaze techniques.
8) I felt really bad for Zenzou. That had to require a hospital stay.
SHIPS TALLY:
Zura x Elizabeth: their whole mission was due to his love for Elizabeth...even if it didn’t turn out to be Elizabeth.
Gintoki x Zenzou: their whole convo was super shippy and Zenzou was acting like a lover scorned and forgotten.
Kagura x Zura: their concern for each other was evident throughout the episode.
Zenzou x Sacchan: I kinda got an excitement chill from the way he greeted Sacchan. His voice actually dropped lower, all sexy like.
Gintoki x Sacchan: basically if they’re in a scene together and Sacchan is reacting to Gintoki, I will count them cuz that is just the right thing to do for Sacchan’s sake.
Gintoki x Zura: because Gintoki called him “Zura-kun”. That was adorable.
Sacchan x Wakikaoru: things could’ve turned easily turned hot and sexy...that’s what porn has taught me.
Gintoki x Some Rando: I don’t really want to talk about it other than to say in the manga, Gin-chan only kicked his ass. Obviously that wasn’t enough for the anime team.

A Gintama episode a day keeps the ending away...Episode 37
Another double-header (I think I’m using that right...I’m not sure I don’t know sports):
MY 8 FAVORITE MOMENTS IN EPISODE 37 (manga chaps 99 and 53):
1) Santa is kinda an abusive asshole.
2) Yeah, I didn’t like this Santa much. No one farts on The Queen and gets away with it...
3)...although I really didn’t like the implications of this punishment either. In the manga, Santa’s pants were still on. The anime team decided to raise them on the grossness level.
4) Gintoki and Zenzou meeting cute (fyi, their hands never touched in the manga).
5) I just liked everything about their first meeting...I really should have shipped them harder based on that.
6) The Shinsengumi obviously has the wildest parties.
7) This is ironic now considering Jump Giga is kinda on the same level as Akamaru Jump. I would still fight to the death for it though.
SHIPS TALLY:
Gintoki x Zenzou: I probably would ship them more if my heart wasn’t already devoted to GinHiji.
Hijikata x Okita: I think Sougo was trying to get Hijikata drunk and naked like Kondou.
Zura x Elizabeth: this old married couple, how cute are they even then? Spending New Year’s Eve together, eating soba by the river. So romantic.
