there won’t ever be a day where i’m not thinking about the masterpiece that is the Given soundtrack. i dont even need to understand japanese to keep the lyrics present because even the instrumental tears my heart out. there’s just something about the short stories all the songs tell in barely a few minutes that has me crying in my seat. centimillimental is a musical genius walking this earth who has done what very few artists do to me. the lyrics and instrumental put together are the purest form of art i’ve consumed this last year, and how am i supposed to even try to understand that a soundtrack helped me get through a very bad breakup. just. this album made me feel like i keep getting hit by a bus with every new note and i love it. the anime alone was a masterpiece from a narrative point of view too, but the soundtrack is on another level of reality for me. i feel like i’ve transcended several layers of dimensions the first few times i listened to it. stream the given ost for a good cry, and if you’re a words nerd like me, read the lyrics and join the crying too
listening to the given instrumentals really helps you realize how much of a conversation these songs are. all the instruments are speaking to each other and even without the lyrics you can kinda tell how the singer would be going. the best part is that the guitar is supporting them throughout all of it and just ugh I love it all so much
Fuyu No Hanashi [Romanji / English Translation]
Followed the model originally created by the talented @dumbbambilook for their take on SUTEEJI KARA KIMI NI SASAGU
It's been on my mind since @tetsuro-hienalaugth-kuroo asked me about it. Hope you enjoy, it's the first time I made something like this.
All credits go to their respective owners. I used the scans from the Given Illustration Book to create this.
Mafuyu said he wanted to write a song for Uenoyama, and then came up with 'Hetakuso'. Listening to the song and reading the lyrics, you'll see it's definitely about Uenoyama. 😭💕💕💕 But 'Hetakuso' is a derivative curse(?) word 😅 Mafuyu, please explain HAHAHAHA 😂

Centimillimental - Kizuato
I listen to Fuyu no Hanashi almost everyday after watching Given. It's been months and up til now I still subconsciously scrunch my face whenever I hear Mafuyu's scream because it's still painful af.
So it's such a big relief to hear him sing and sound happier, livelier, and more hopeful in Hetakuso.
I wanna hear Hiiragi & Shizusumi's song that got the grand prize for the music festival! I wanna hear Hiiragi's voice too! Also, I wonder if we'll ever get to hear Yuki's song that Uenoyama was trying to reconstruct. I'm really curious about it. How it would sound like? What message was he was trying to deliver? And also, how that song would affect Mafuyu and his relationship Uenoyama? Will we ever get that far into the anime? The manga's great and I'd still prefer reading it but since it's about music, it's such a waste if it won't get animated. Given's the type of manga that delivers its message better through music afterall.
