Lord of the Rings Online did such a good job with the aesthetics of some of the locations. Such as Barad-dur in Mordor, seen here fallen down after the Battle of the Black Gate.

Also yessssss finally spotted some quest text where my stout-axe dwarf's origin in Mordor was referenced. Thank you Gimli, you validated the several years of on-and-off playing it's taken me to get this guy high enough level to return to the homeland he once fled. That's what I was wanting to see!

Secret Hobbit house?

There is a trail of lanterns going from a dock up to the house, but I cant recall there ever being a quest involving this location.

Well seeing as how we can play as children River Hobbits in LOTRO now I present to you:

Young!Idared!

My fun lil head cannon is that our young Loremaster ventured far and wide in her never-ending search for knowledge.

Sneaking away from home was easy enough. Getting to Cardolan on the other hand, a little harder.

She travels many miles over hill and stream until at last: Tharbad

Unfortunately its when she tries to cross the Greyflood that things go wrong for the young Loremaster.

With the majority of her gear gone Idared is cold, tired and trapped on the far side of the river.

But as fortune would have it: The city of Tharbad was not quite as abandoned as she was told, and better yet: a friendly face.

A man named Meneldir, who reminds Idared of the Rangers in Bree she's met. Though Meneldir insists that he is no such thing.

Nevertheless, Meneldir decides to watch over the child as she insists on studying the ruins.

And thus begins a long and unorthodox friendship.

IDK it feels just a bit too bright for my tastes. but it does show off how pretty everything is.

Then after spending way too much time in Hytbold I finally went to Wildermore, because I remember liking that zone and:

I forgot how DARK this storyline is!

Been having fun decorating my houses in Lord of the Rings Online since they became available for purchase again after the server move last month. This is a weird little oddly shaped space in the basement of my Rohan house that I wasn't quite sure what to do with at first - until I looked at the gold coin floor texture and enormous pile of gold coins I had and decided it'd make a fun little treasury area. Since when I've also gotten some other mounds of assorted treasure, plus just bought a dragon's hoard fireplace in the Anniversary festival.

I think the treasury has come together really well. All that shiny gold warms up the space. As does the tiny dragon.

Another of my houses in Lord of the Rings Online. This is the kinhouse for my alt kinship, Snowfall, that I created back when housing storage was one of the very few ways to get a few extra storage slots to throw things into.

I decided I wanted the Thorin's Hall homestead kinhouse that's situated beneath a large opening in the cavern roof and is therefore snowy, since it obviously suited the kinship's name quite well.

The foyer is cozily decorated with a nice warm seat by a fireplace.

Just inside the great hall, to the left of the doorway, I've set up a small office or study area. There's some decor between it and the elevated portion of the room, where a number of collected items are on display, mostly from my recent adventures in Gundabad. To the side of the stage I have several kegs set up for random travel purposes, and then the remaining corner of the hall has mostly taxidermied trophies.

There's a small room beside the great hall that I've set up as a kitchen area.

From there you go up a staircase, past a couple of small landings, to the upper room, which I've set up as a bedroom.
