Hi Before the Shadow rewired my brain. If you are in need of rangers to draw…. Meneldir? 👉👈
the voices (the picker wheel) said it was a good idea
Doom comes for you…
I never posted this ranger dood officially ;-;
Well seeing as how we can play as children River Hobbits in LOTRO now I present to you:
Young!Idared!
My fun lil head cannon is that our young Loremaster ventured far and wide in her never-ending search for knowledge.
Sneaking away from home was easy enough. Getting to Cardolan on the other hand, a little harder.
She travels many miles over hill and stream until at last: Tharbad
Unfortunately its when she tries to cross the Greyflood that things go wrong for the young Loremaster.
With the majority of her gear gone Idared is cold, tired and trapped on the far side of the river.
But as fortune would have it: The city of Tharbad was not quite as abandoned as she was told, and better yet: a friendly face.
A man named Meneldir, who reminds Idared of the Rangers in Bree she's met. Though Meneldir insists that he is no such thing.
Nevertheless, Meneldir decides to watch over the child as she insists on studying the ruins.
And thus begins a long and unorthodox friendship.
Listen to what Meneldir has to say.
a rough meneldir concept to get out of artblock
oh oh one last one, have you put Meneldir in the plinko yet? would highly recommend. how about uhhhh, is 6 (Guilt/Blame) too on the nose for him? maybe 28 (Exhaustion/Insomnia) if you've already gotten the other one
6. Guilt/Blame 28. Exhaustion/Insomnia
"'S my fault."
"It's not. People can steal cattle without you. I swear, Mennie, you don't know how to say a lot else do you?"
"...Don't call me that."
"Stop acting like a child and I might."
"Mmm."
"There you go again. Use your words."
Narndir sighed. His friend could barely sit upright but still refused to sleep. Meneldir looked several days without rest as well, and likely didn't realize he had half a wheat field in his hair. But that was something he'd always admired about Meneldir. He cared too much.
"You need to eat. You can't chase cattle thieves if you don't eat." He had some dry rations, but soup would do better on a night like this. Something hearty, warm, it would lull his stubborn friend straight to sleep.
"Caught them." Meneldir grunted. "Herne jailhouse."
Narndir rolled his eyes. "Of course you did. Did you scare the guards at the jailhouse too? Appear from the shadows and say something witty? Or had you been on your feet too long?" He found the soup pot among his things and went to get the fire started again. "Probably scared the daylights out of them either way. A cloaked figure, a gravely voice, some utter gibberish they're already too frightened to try and make sense of-"
A snore.
Narndir turned to find his friend slumped over on the bedroll, propped up by his satchel. Shaking his head, he got up to fetch one of his blankets. The camp could house two tonight. Meneldir needed a good night's sleep just as badly as he needed a friend.
Laurelberry of the Stoors was born ready for an adventure! Hailing from Glyn Helyg, she had recently arrived to the village of Mossward when a tall dark (and handsome) stranger made her acquaintance.
A Ranger, they said, of the Dúnedain of the North. Meneldir was his namesake and soon he took the young hobbit-lass under his wing. By his side, she’d hone her skills in battle, learning from the experienced Ranger how to improve in tracking, sneaking and burglarizing in the Swanfleet area.
It was after crossing the Greyflood that she earned her own Dúnedain Star, a symbol she proudly wears on her shoulder ever since and marks her readiness to face old Cardolan. Two other companions joined them at that point, however briefly. And by the time she finished helping the people of Herne, she found a letter and an unexpected gift: a new dagger, sporting the style of the Rohirrim.
