Trying to distract from being very sad about the Glasgow Central fire but I will say this;
I can't believe Glasgow has fires destroying historical architecture so often that we not only have a grim running joke about it, but there's also a Reddit flare joking about how overdone the joke is;
*(for people who aren't from around here, the joke is that they're going to immediately build student flats in the corpse of the building. Literally 15 mins before I saw the flair my pal said 'new student flats are gonna have great transport links'.)
Central Station, November 2023
Dozens of services have been cancelled and the station will be closed until further notice.
This photo of a couple of firefighters resting on the plinth of the Citizen Firefighter statue outside Grand Central Hotel a couple of dozen meters from the fire made me so emotional. I hope they know how appreciated the firefighters are.
