Back at Shiz, Elphaba spends the night certain she’s going to crawl out of her skin. The whole situation has left her unsettled.

Fiyero empathizes.

“The only death in my family of anyone I was close to was my grandfather. He died when I was thirteen, and the funeral seemed too big to me. Everyone remembered what a great Chieftain he was and I just remembered him as the funny old man who taught me card tricks and all the dances from his heyday that no one else knew anymore. Somehow that actually made me cool, and it made him cool to me.”

A little after he admits.

“It was also then that I realized death is the end and that it’s coming for all of us. That was a fun idea to have in my mind going through adolescence. Dust is what we come to indeed.”

I'm picking and half-reading some Glinda's mentions during the scene with Elphaba and Nessa in CG (because I havent found the strenght on me to focus and finish the book so I just read Glinda's mentions...and this is the first time i focused in this part), and omg? I'm feeling too shocked because of them.

Like Elphaba is talking about Morrible, the shoes and magic , and Nessa is dismissing Elphaba's opinion about Morrible's but she is pretty sure of Glinda's magic, and she is pretty deffensive about Glinda? (Im starting to like Glessa a little bit more...even if its onesided). And Elphaba is focusing in the shoes because of Frex (like we've been knew) but also because of Glinda?!

And I got in this point of the book because i put Glinda in the search option of the pdf (I have the book but i dont want to go and pick it lol) and before of this one I read the part when Glinda and Elphaba are talking about Nessa being everyone's fav, and i just thought 'Maybe Elphaba is a little bit jealous of the shoes because thats the proof of how Glinda ended liking Nessa too'.

And there is this weird(?) scene when Nessa get nervous(?) talking about Glinda (because Elphie keeps talking about her) and thats how she agreed to give Elphaba the shoes.

And also there is this scene when Elphie keeps trying to search info of Chuffrey.

I dont get it, but uff. Now, more than ever, need something of the 4 Thropps who liked/loved Glinda.

Fun fact: Glinda is mentioned 300 times. While Galinda is mentioned 247 times.

A few days turns out to feel like a lot longer than it should.

Elphaba really should have expected the nightmares, but she still hates them. Every morning waking up in her dorm bed is a relief, and not just because of the reprieve from the memories. She sticks her face into her soft pillow, and realizes that aside from the fact it had been far too long since she’d slept in a bed, that this dorm was the first place where she’d really felt at home. The Grimmerie was tucked safely under her mattress.

It has been far too long, Elphaba thought, since she had visited the Vinkus, and she’s quite glad that this time it’s under better circumstances. She didn’t have any time to appreciate any of it before, she had been in such a state. She knew there were secrets hidden within the walls of Kiamo Ko that she hadn’t even had the chance to scratch the surface of.

And the land itself…

In terms of size, it was easily the largest of all four regions of Oz, running nearly the entire length of the country, overtaking both Munchkinland and Gillikin on its eastern borders, with only Quadling country, dwarfed in size compared to the others, sharing part of its southern borders. And so little of it was inhabited, or inhabitable.
