This post was intended for yesterday’s #InternationalTigerDay. But we had a baby rhino announcement in the middle of it all… So guess what? Today is #TigerTuesday! 🚨🐅🚨 PLEASE NOTE: Swiping beyond the first photo will show you the results of wildlife trafficking. It’s not nasty, but it is hard to look at. 🐅 Wildlife trafficking, can be the trade of animals and/or animal parts. A few years ago I was able to walk through one of the warehouses where wildlife trafficking items are held during investigations. Needless to say, it was heartbreaking to see hundreds upon hundreds of animals and animal parts in a warehouse. 🐅 From U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service website: In Bukit Barisan Selatan National Park and Bukit Balai Renjang Landscape, tiger populations have been significantly decreasing over the last several years due to severe poaching and habitat fragmentation. 🐅 While a majority of illegal wildlife trade is happening on a commercial scale, sometimes tourists participate in the trade by unknowingly buying or traveling with illegal items, often bought back as souvenirs or gifts purchased abroad. To ensure that you are following the law when importing or exporting wildlife and wildlife products. . . . . . #WorldTigerDay #GlobalTigerDay #TigerDay #MakeADifference #WildlifeConservation #BigCatsOfInstagram #InstaCat #CatsOfInstagram #wildlifeonearth #wildlifeplanet #SavingSpecies #EndExtinction #WildlifeEducation #animalsaddict #planet_of_animals #SanDiegoZoo #TheZooSD #TheZoo #AnimalPlanet #RaiseAwareness #TheZooSanDiego (at San Diego, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/B0j2-tFn_YB/?igshid=1ws73pryigky5
