New (to you) Artists of the Week: Glow Team
"Two 18 year olds from Miami who love bass." This doesn't begin to describe the young duo that came together only a year ago and already received massive support through soundcloud and other media outlets, remixing the likes of Ellie Goulding and Nervo. A few months back they even did an official remix for Borgore's Wild Out on Dim Mak.
I've spoken with Trucco and Suarey of Glow Team, and they are so creative and enthusiastic. They're producing music that they love, going "Funtcase crazy" in their sets as David puts it.
Their most recent mix is a glitch heavy Lykke Li flip which draws clear inspiration from Zed's Dead in all the right ways. It's toned down at points, displaying the robustness of minimal production. Often, less is more.
The understanding of rhythm in their tracks is impressive. I guess it's not surprising that Trucco is attending Berklee College of Music?
Already playing sets on Miami beaches this summer, there are big things coming for these two passionate young producers. Get hip on them, while you can.
I'll be dropping an interview with this duo and some other rising producers later this summer, so keep up with it all at dchooks.tumblr.com.
