Soo-gook’s mother was a professional ballerina for many years and could not wait to put her own daughter into dance.
Because of the support and encouragement from her family, Soo-gook eventually was able to study at the Korean National Ballet Academy.
During her time there she got bullied by many other students, as well as some teachers, for being taller and more muscular than the other girls. She always maintained a love for dance, but the competitive and hostile environment of the academy eventually drove her to leave.
After that she began taking jobs as a backup dancer for different idols, like Chung-Ha and even BTS. Through this work is how she became connected to Kim Lena who eventually asked her to join her new entertainment company
Soo-gook has never thought about doing music before, but had seen how much the idols she worked for loved their jobs and decided to give it a try, making her the second ever trainee at Leo Entertainment.
