Plot bunny idea -

What is Palpatine thinking when he’s watching Obi-wan thrash Cad Bane after the first kidnapping attempt in “Crisis on Naboo?” I mean, Obi-wan basically destroys Bane in that fight as Palps looks on, and according to the ROTS novelization, Palps considered Kenobes to be a very competent nuisance. But I wonder if he has a moment of reconsidering the merits of trying to turn Obes versus Anakin during this part of the episode.
