Hi there! I have a few questions that I'm hoping you could answer. I've had the skyla iud for about a year now & lately my periods have gotten lighter & lighter to the point where they've completely stopped. Recently, every time after sex I've had these super painful cramps that last a few hours. My bf & I usually use the pull out method, but not every time. I plan to get a test to make sure I'm not pregnant, but are the cramps & missing periods normal/could be a sign of pregnancy?
When you're on hormonal birth control, including the IUD, missing periods or your periods leaving entirely are par for the course.
Cramping is also a pretty normal side effect, however if they are specifically associated with sex, it's possible you have an infection or other health condition.
The chance of pregnancy is very low, but still possible. However it's more likely another issue.
