Good luck if you’re sensitive or short tempered because he’ll definitely he cursing you like you killed his mother or ragebaiting you like an edgy 15 year old on twitter .
ᢉ𐭩 Psss - if you want a major tip , use Jean . If you get Jean to talk with you two or to convince Arnaud to stop being such a jerk ! He will most definitely fold , no matter how pissy he is about it .
ᢉ𐭩 Arnaud ( BEGRUDGINGLY ) starts to lean on you , you slowly grow on him like a fungi . He’s still mean to you but his barks lack bite , his eyes lack any real hatred and his tone falls fake . He’s a tsundare / j . I feel like this slowly becomes a kinda crude humor - like hitting you lightly in a playful way and insulting you in a clearly not genuine manner . If anyone tries to join in , thinking he’s hating on you fr , he gets so mad . Immediately yells the color out of the person 😭 he’ll go back to insulting you afterwards though
ᢉ𐭩 Regardless of platonic friendship or romantic partnership — he’s definitely the “ they asked for no pickles “ type of person . He will defend you and he will be VERY public about it . If you’re British he takes a minute longer to defend you / hj
However he fully expects you to do the exact same for him . He is a big ass coward and he will immediately turn to you like you’re his defense lawyer if anything happens . Think Romano from hetalia if anyone can get that reference . If you don’t defend him he will stop defending you
ᢉ𐭩 It’s kinda hard to see him vulnerable . Only times I can ever see that happening is whenever he’s scared . I like to imagine he gets behind you like a child if you’re near him when he feels threatened , sometimes you wonder how he’s a soldier . If he hears groans or anything remotely like a shambler he FLOCKS to you like you’re a crucifix . He doesn’t like it being brought up after though . It shatters his ego 💔 If you try to help him be more courageous he’ll feel a mix of offended yet thankful
ᢉ𐭩 He’s very clingy when you two get close enough , I feel like he’d have bad separation anxiety . Like BIG TIME …. He might hold onto your clothing if you’re in a crowd or always demand to be paired with either you or Jean for something . You know the place he stays during roscoff ? He definitely forces you to stay in it with him .
ᢉ𐭩 this gets worse after jeans passing . Either that or he begins to avoid you , it’s a 50/50
ᢉ𐭩 He’s not the worst friend but he’s not good at showing that he means well if that makes sense . Like a solid 6/10 friend in my opinion 🤓✌️
ROMANTIC ::
ᢉ𐭩 He doesn’t mind pet names when it comes to you but if you try to use pet names on him he IMMEDIATELY recoils . He ends up feeling like a little kid and he makes it obvious he’s not a fan . If you’re French he’ll make an exception because he does like French pet names .
ᢉ𐭩 I feel like his clinginess goes up by 10000% when you two get together , will throw a hissy fit at you if you leave in the middle of the night to go pee or something . Speaking of that , definitely cuddles you at night I have 0 doubt . Only exception would be if you two sleep where someone could spot you as he’s definitely not wanting to be caught in such a situation . Probably sleeps in the small area where he’s in during roscoff or somewhere in a secluded area in the church . I feel most of the soldiers , French or otherwise , aren’t a big fan of him . So he tries hard to impress you
ᢉ𐭩 Surprisingly romantic ?? Even though he comes off rough he’s very gentle when it comes to you . Gently takes hold of your hand and keeps eye contact and he places a small feather kiss on it , lends you his uniform top at night as a blanket , sings you French love songs at night and gently dances with you + teaches you if you can’t slow dance . Very much a gentlemen when it counts . His love is big and loud , but his romance is quiet and low , gentle like a sweet breeze . He gets a lot more lovey dovey at night — mainly because there’s less things to worry about and less people to be on the look out for . But also because sleepiness makes him lose all his pizazz, leaving him vulnerable and unable to fake anything or exaggerate anything . Same goes for the early morning . For around 30 minutes after you two wake up . He likes to wake up earlier than you so he can hold you for longer and take in your sweet expression , he says sweet nothings to you as you rest , things he’s too afraid to tell you when you’re awake and things he wishes he had the courage to communicate .
ᢉ𐭩 depending if you want to say Jean got infected and die or not , he definitely gets more anxious and scared about you . If you say Jean didn’t get sick and died then there’s not much to comment . His wingman is most certainly Jean though , he asks the French officer for advice ALLL the time and he’s 90% the reason why he even bagged you . Jean planned the whole confession and WAS there when he did so 😭 just off to the sidelines clapping and congratulating like he was at a concert LMAO . He teaches Armand how to be all romantic and what to do in a relationship since I imagine Jean was a big lover boy in his teen years a got with a bunch of girls ( and boys 👀 ) before settling with his long term wife .
10/10 partner , would recommend crying with after watching a sappy romance movie
