In 1991 Felix Gonzalez-Torres made TWO works with the designation "Untitled" (Go-Go Dancing Platform). One, on the left, is apparently selling at Art Basel for $16 million (dancer wages not included). The other, on the right, was declared to no longer be a work, and is MIA. Felix made five other similar platform/pedestals in 1992, all similarly declared a non-work.

been thinking about this spread from the catalogue for Sturtevant's 2004 exhibition at MMK Frankfurt. It details works she made in the mid-1990s that repeated works by Felix Gonzalez-Torres: "Untitled" (Go-Go Dancing Platform), 1991 and "Untitled" (Blood), 1992. The former is like what's pictured above on the right. The latter is a curtain of red and white/clear plastic beads in a doorway.

Among other things, Sturtevant changed her titles for these works, which, in Felix's practice, anyway, is a significant shift, for reasons.

i rebuild elaine sturtevants version of felix gonzalez-torres' "untitled (go-go dancing platform)", painted 50 songlyrics in a room and danced to the songs, whereby i was singing the text-lines painted on the wall, when they occurred in the songs and pointed to them. during the exhibition there was shown a link with the video, while the platform was empty, besides the hotpants, the shoes and the mp3-player, which still was playing the songs.
