Ever wonder why goblins love frogs, snails, bugs, all those little creatures that humans detest, ignore or exterminate?
Perhaps we enjoy the little guys who mind their business, taking life at their own pace, living in their own way, braving the big and scary world around them. There’s simple joy in a harmless creature simply living according to its nature, doing its own thing. There’s fascination in watching how differently they do simple things, like grooming, eating, hiding, compared to us. There’s so much to learn in pondering the quiet creatures and wondering what the world must appear as to them. And perhaps, we see a little of ourselves in them. Small creatures in a big world, unwanted and mostly unseen by humans, thriving in our own way despite it all. Goblins don’t need affection to be returned or a practical use extracted from something to enjoy it. To adore it. To relate to it. That feels like a primary difference between human culture and goblin culture.
There is one human phrase that captures the concept well… That proves we have kindred souls among them.
“One does not admire the sunset expecting it to admire them back.”
IDK if this is a hot take or not but Wyll is definitely trans.
My justification? Credit to my fiancée who said, "Only a trans guy has the name Will with a Y."
I want my younger followers to know that, while I’m currently trying to speedrun adulthood by realizing in my twenties that adults are incompetent and allowed to do “childish” things, please don’t try to speedrun your childhood/teens. I tried. I did not grow up faster but I did skip a lot of important tutorials (and I don’t mean school) and fun cutscenes.

me, filled with potent Goblin Wisdom: "dig deep. the juiciest meat lies closest to the bone."
someone: "omg yes, such a good metaphor for life!"
me, perched on a kitchen chair hunched over the bones of a roast chicken, face and hands completely covered in grease: "...metaphor. suuure."

Let me impart to you all some Goblin Life Advice
-appreciate simple physical pleasures, like a warm home, soft bed, and a full stomach. life isn’t always easy for goblins, so be mindful of the comforts you have now.
-savor the taste of food, especially meat or fresh bread
-make comfy pillow and blanket nests when it’s cold out
-if possible, sleep or snuggle in piles of your loved ones. Goblins are all about community. plus its basically a form of hoarding
-save things that you could reuse or recycle later
-save and wash plastic food containers (ex coolwhip) -use as tupperware
-thrift shop. cheap clothes!! usually the smell comes out in the wash.
-make your room your own space. mark it as your territory. fill it with your hoard. turn your bed into a nest fit for a gobling creche.
-arrange your life to be comfortable and utilitarian without worrying about what others think of it. if ur depressed and need food, you can grocery shop in ur pjs without showering if that’s all u have the energy for. necessities first! go to ur 8 am without makeup.
-adorn yourself in all the tacky, fun things you want without worrying about “fashion”
-free yourself from the idea that you need to be attractive to deserve respect and love in this world.
-free yourself from the idea that you always need to seem to be put together in public. your life is not a performance and you owe nothing to no one
-let yourself ugly laugh in public
I was kinda bummed out when I had to go back to the city after the semester break since I had some awesome times outside when I was at home. But these little mushrooms I can spot even in the city are small light bringers that remind me that even though there are no mountains or even real forests around nature still finds a way to peak through.
