John is a Greek God who gets bored up on Mount Olympus and ventures down into the city. Rodney is an Ancient Grecian scientist who absolutely does not believe in Gods, but does believe in sleeping with hot guys who are interested in him.
Nobody prayed to the god of death unless it was to keep him away. John knew this. He could hear all of those prayers and over the centuries it had turned him bitter and lonely. Even the other gods avoided him, except for his brother Freddie, the god of love.
They followed each other for centuries, creating both joy and tragedies wherever they went until Freddie settled into one of his temples. John had no temples and kept on wandering the world but made sure to visit his brother.
One night, he passed a forest and caught a glimpse of a forest nymph sitting in the treetops, gazing longingly into the black sky. John, who had lived among the gods and had seen the most beautiful men and women, was left speechless by the way the moonlight illuminated the man’s face which was framed by long, dark locks.
He found himself staring but fled the second the nymph looked into his direction. John could not stay away for long, though, and returned every night, scouting the outskirts of the forest for the beautiful nymph. He found him every night, observing the black nothingness that was the sky with such yearning that it made John ache.
John knew love, he had seen it often enough with his brother and loved Freddie, but he had never felt it like this before. It made him restless, left his fingers twitching to create, something he hadn’t done since he had made roses as a gift for Freddie centuries ago.
The next day, John wandered into the forest for the first time. It didn’t took him long until he found what he was looking for; a dear carcass. He picked some of the bones, cleaned them and grinded them into a fine powder. He did the same to a bundle of asters he spotted next to the deer. Then, he settled down at the spot where he first saw the nymph and waited for nighttime.
The nymph came and only shot John a short look- not one of malice but curiosity- before climbing up into the trees.
John took a handful of the bone powder, mixed it with the aster powder, added one of his tears to it and blew it into the sky. The loud gasp from overhead told him his plan worked out. Part of the sky was now covered in glittering lights.
The nymph jumped of the tree, landing soundlessly next to John.
“Do it again.” He whispered, his eyes shining brightly.
“I need a drop of liquid.”
Hurried, the nymph pulled a garden scythe out of his robes and pricked his finger to add a drop of blood to the mixture. John shot him one last look before adding the new lights to the sky. Strong fingers on his arm made him jump a bit. It had been a while since anyone had been willing to touch him.
“Can you do it again?”
John looked up. There was no more space in the sky.
“I can’t, I’m afraid.”
The nymph’s face fell which made John’s heart clench painfully. He looked back up to the sky, searching for a solution before he would be left alone again. Desperate, he lifted his hands to the sky and called to his brother for help and immediately felt the warmth of Freddie in the back of his mind. All it took then was a flick of his wrist and the sky started moving.
Exhausted from the deed, he took another handful of powder, mixed it with a drop of his own blood and held it up to the nymph.
“You do it, please.”
The nymph stared, wide eyed but did as John had asked; supporting the god’s shaking hand with his own.
They spend the whole night like this, decorating the dark sky with sparkling lights. At one point, they ended up sitting so close to each other that their bodies were pressed together from their feet to their shoulders. By the time the sun rose over the mountains, John had exhausted most of his powers. The nymph, his name was Brian as the god found out, led him back into the depths of the forest and brought him to his bed, a woven construct made of branches, leaves and flowers, where they laid down to rest.
A soft thanks and a kiss on the cheek was the last thing John remembered before he fell asleep.
Two projects I’ve finished up :) first one is kidlock — Wolfiarty, Fawnlock, and kid!John. The second is from an rp I’ve been working on — MotherNature!John.
