F o r g i v e n e s s  pt. 2

Sometimes it’s hard to feel forgiven. Especially when we know we’ve messed up pretty badly. We know Jesus died to save us from our sins, He defeated death, but we still can’t seem to defeat our fears. We need to find the relief in knowing and trusting that we’re not just saved, we’re forgiven. As long as we believe in Jesus Christ our Lord, He’s forgiven us.

Since we have been forgiven, we too should forgive. The Our Father says: “...forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us...” Romans 5:8 says: “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” And 1 Timothy 1:15-16 says: Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life.
