hello!!! i would like to preface this by saying the dog in question has a vet appointment this friday and this ask is more to sate my own curiosity. we took in a dog from a family member who was not being cared for (2 yr. old boxer) and found out she has not been fixed! however she is also Very underweight right now, hips, spine, and ribs are all clearly visible, weighs maybe 30-40 pounds. my question is, is it possible to safely put her under for such a procedure while being underweight?

They probably will not put her under until she gains some weight back, but that shouldn’t take very long provided the rest of the dog is healthy. And considering that her spay appointment likely wouldn’t be for 3 or 4 weeks with how extremely backlogged every veterinary clinic is, she will probably be at a proper weight by then.

𝙊𝙊𝙁 , 𝘼 𝘽𝙄𝙂 𝙊𝙉𝙀 ... in terms of what i would describe as wounds she’s been dealt , i really want to focus on just one - the burns up her back and scalp . 

she’s got lots of small scars from cuts and bumps during the struggle in the boiler room , and faint puckering on her cheeks from standing so close to the explosion ( but that heals over completely in time ) . 

the burns are from when she’s pushed up against one of the boilers and aggressively kissed during the fight with jd - 

steam and contact burns are very different from fire burns ; so she has to deal with blistering instead of charing , and the heat is hot enough to actually burn her through her clothes , too - of course , the burns under her clothes are much less severe than the exposed skin of her neck and her scalp , but it’s still there ! 

the scars are VERY visible across the back of her neck , and they would be visible if she ever wore backless dresses , but she never EVER exposes any burned skin as long as she can help it . she loves wearing scarves in the winter just to hide her neck , and she’s lucky she has really fucking thick hair and great doctors bc she does have some bald spots due to cicatricial alopecia . her thick curls do hide it , and she’s got enough hair to spare that even when it’s straightened and wet you can’t see it , but you can definitely feel them . 

that’s the main wound i like to talk about , just because it kinda shifts how she perceives herself - part of her thinks it’s sorta metaphorical , having a scarred back , like she’s been backstabbed and healed over . part of her can’t even think about it because of the traumatic memories , and is glad that she doesn’t have to look at it every day ( like her cigarette lighter on her palm ) . and part of her thinks it’s basically made her ugly and damaged goods ( bad self esteem ) .

Achilles opens one eye to look at Icarus, stilling when he feels his fingertips moving along his skin. Icarus’ touch is so gentle, it feels odd to have him touch such a painful injury with such tenderness. 

“It is not a kind story,” he finally says as Icarus’ fingers continue to move along his side. “Few of them are. If any. Such is the manner of war.”

   ICARUS LAUGHS and it sounds like sunlight reflected off water, like bells chiming on a warm summer day. They’re drunk though he is slightly more collected than Achilles at least, sober enough to make sure they both ended up at his townhouse after they left the bars. They’re lying face to face in his bed, both half undressed thanks to his own efforts.

    “ YES, LOVE, ” He says and the affection slips off his tongue without thought on a night like this, carefree and affectionate. “ That was the plan. I didn’t tuck you in just to kick you out once you got comfortable. ” His fingers slide into Achilles’ hair, brushing it out of his face just so he can see his eyes. They might be at their best like this, too intoxicated to be caught up in all of their worry and doubt. When Icarus realizes he’s staring it’s too late to stop. At least, that’s what he says when he doesn’t look away. “ We should sleep. But I don’t want to. ”

Achilles laughs when Icarus does, though he’s not sure why he’s laughing. He feels good, better than  he has in a long time. He reaches his hand over and brushes his fingers against Icarus’ jaw. Icarus brushing his hair feels nice, reassuring. Grounding, even.

“I do not want to either.” His smile widens. He rolls onto his side so he can look at Icarus properly. "What do you want to do instead?”

“No offense, Dude, but if you don’t have any super powers, you should probably get out of the waaaaaay!” The last word became a yell as Peter webbed off across the street, chasing a guy chased like a bear. He really wished he was joking, almost wished it was some sort of innuendo (he’d learned recently what a bear, otter, and twink were, and he’d never be the same again), but there was just no getting around the fact that today’s big bad was a six foot seven ex-wrestler in a giant bear costume with very sharp claws and a vendetta against the Daily Bugle and, apparently, Spiderman by association. 

Peter had absolutely no idea who the other hero was, though they had seemed genuine in their desire to help. Only, they hadn’t said anything yet, and they hadn’t shown any cool lazer-beam powers or weather control or really anything that seemed capable of taking down a super powered bear-man, so Peter sort of figured he was still on his own. He webbed down, kicked the bear straight in the chest to sendhim flying, then landed and turned back to Candon, speaking through the Spiderman mask. “Are you X-Men? Avenger? Revenger? A-Force? Super cool independent street hero?” 

Sure, Peter pretty much considered Queens his territory to protect, but when it came to saving the day, teamwork was supposed to be key, right? That’s what all the Captain America Good Behavior videos at school said, anyway. And if Peter showed he was a team player, then maybe Mr. Stark would finally make him an official Avenger.

       no amount of resentful energy could prevent the exhaustion he felt creeping into his bones when he finally woke up from the coma. he had used up all the energy he’d had and when wei wuxian notices lan zhan approach he attempts to move up from the bed, gasping quietly when he was pushed back down a moment later, feeling as if lan zhan had taken what little energy he’d had left as he’d pushed him down. “aih, lan zhan... you know, i do not need to rest all day.”
