Y’know with Godly Games I absolutely dread the shipping culture that would happen if it were ever to get popular, with 2 canon relationships (one being very toxic, which is the point but it also adds stress to the shipping culture), one canon aroace character and then just one character who is single and would want a relationship

like you’d think that wouldn’t give them a lot of opportunities!!!!! but like you’re on tumblr so you know better

Velvet Paisley

First Victor of the hunger games in my au,as well as the mother of Michael's stylist. Fro. District 8

Velvet - Name for a type of thick soft fabric

Paisley - a type of textile design.

Narcissus Antinous

Michael's stylist, born to Velvet and a Capitol engineer Pius, and the ex-husband of Head Gamemaker.

Narcissus - must recognized for the myth of man died glued to his own reflection, but is also the name of Emperor Commodus' personal trainer that killed him.

Antinous - Name of the lover of Emperor Hadrian who was deitified after his death drowning in the Nile

Lucilla Commodus

Head Gamemaker,Luke Castellan's mentor, and ex-wife of Antinous

Lucilla - name of Emperor Commodus elder sister who was exciled and layer executed for failed assassination attempt.

Commodus - Emperor of Rome known for his enjoyment in Gladiator fights and more erratic and dictatorial rule.

Dione Commodus

Yet to officially appear, the beloved daughter of Antinous and Lucille Commodus, she works in fashion for the regular people of the capital and often very busy.

Dione - meaning "goddess". In less common telling of Aphrodite's creation is the name of her mother. Also the name of Tantalus' wife and one the nymphs who took care of baby Dionysus.

Alcippe Daugherty

Jake's mentor and Victor of the 56th games

Alcippe - Name to many in Greek mythology including an Amazon killed by Heracles,a daughter of Ares who was avenged by her father when she was assaulted leading to the first trial in history, and of one of the daughters of the giant Alcyoneus who threw themselves from the the peak of Pellene into the sea after their father's death. Name meaning "mighty mare"

Daugherty - coming from Ó Dochartaigh, "Descendant of Dochartaigh". Dochartaigh meaning hurtful or obstructive

Cordelia Antiphonus

District 4 tribute of the 75th games. She was the last to die why attempting to kill Michael in revenge for the death of Jake's district partner.

Cordelia - meaning "heart" or "daughter of the sea"

Antiphonus - meaning "in return for slaughter" or "in revenge for blood"

Brenna Collins

Jake's district partner who Michael was forced to kill to save Jake.

Brenna- "raven haired beauty" possibly also "fire", "torch",or "sword"

Collins - "people of victory" or "pup"

Elidi Juniper

Michael's district partner, she was killed by mutts why fighting alongside Michael.

Elidi - meaning "gift of the sun"

Juniper - a specific berry bearing evergreen shrub or tree.

Crisanta Castilla

Leading Training Overseer for the games, surprisingly friendly and caring to Tributes and Victors.

Crisanta - "Golden flower", "Chrysanthemum"

Castilla - Castle or Fort

Glaucia Walker

Jake's stylist,naive and a bit eccentric but still cares deeply for Jake and Michael.

Michael's mother, though first name not really mentioned in fic as of yet. She died when Michael was 8 from circumstances yet revealed.

Yew - Coniferous red berry bearing tree often used in bow making, or "a fault"/ "to express discontenment against"

Niobe

Last name unknown, Niobe is Michael's Escort as well as Head Escort.

Niobe - "Fern", the name of the daughter of Tantalus who's 12 children were killed by Apollo and Artemis for her disrespect of Leto and boasting.

Athanasíou Doúkas(Aka Mr.D)

Technically not oc,probably not too much of a spoiler/shock to really say this is disguised Dionysus. He's tv host for the games. Not much else about his stance towards the capital is known.

Fabius Alcibiades

Child of general Tityos(Head of the Peacekeepers)'s sister and seen hitting on Michael and Jake on two diffrent parties.

Fabius - coming from word "faba" meaning bean. Name of the legendary founder of the family of the Fabii, one of the most ancient patrician families at ancient Rome.

Alcibiades - "Strength/Force", name of Athenian statesman and general who played all sides of the Peloponnesain War.
