horror anthologies seem to skew veeeeeery hit and miss and goedam is unfortunately no exception. i liked three out of the eight entries: 1.
horror anthologies seem to skew veeeeeery hit and miss and goedam is unfortunately no exception. i liked three out of the eight entries:
1. crack: really good, creative sound design. the story was solid and very tense. nice gore effects, somewhat unintentionally funny ending. 8/10
2. destination: a short film this short shouldn't feel too long, but it could have cut out early at any given point and been greatly improved. 2/10
3. special guest: i don't feel like the format was used well, and the resolution felt rushed and flat. the actress did a really great job though. 4/10
4. curiosity: liked the weird space/time warp, but the set-up didn't make sense and the creature looked like ass, so i enjoyed only like 15 seconds of this entry. 2/10
5. red shoes: rushed intro, but props for reminding me distantly of tomie. loved loved loved the whole detached upper body; they went all out with the gore here and it was worth it. the things that actress did to her ankles in the final shot were extremely upsetting, i hope she's ok. 7/10
6. dimension: i had such goodwill for this because i used to be kinda obsessed with the elevator game creepy pasta, but they could have been so creative with it and they just weren't. promising start, really disappointing destination. 3/10
7. threshold: men don't deserve rights. stupidest motherfucker doesn't listen to wife, summons shittiest looking cgi monster in the game. he deserved getting axed. 0/10
8. birth: god forbid a woman do anything! girlboss queen gave us everything with her performance. wish the actual birth scene hadn't looked so amazingly shitty, but that bad cgi really came in swinging to ruin a perfect score. 9/10
