Mumbai Airport Gold Bust: 24 Foreign Women Arrested, ₹37 Crore Worth Gold Seized
A massive gold smuggling racket has been exposed at Mumbai’s international airport, where the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) arrested 24 Kenyan women carrying nearly 29.37 kg of gold worth ₹37.74 crore.
The operation, codenamed “Operation Dahabu Blitz” (‘Dahabu’ means gold in Swahili), was executed after officials received prior intelligence about a suspicious Nairobi flight.
