how does an atronach become an atronach? is it genetically passed down or if two atronach parents want a kid do they have to create one?

Baby atronachs are born the usual way  :D

If both parents are atronachs, then the baby will be one. If it’s an atronach and human, the baby will be an atronach. If it’s an atronach and some other supernatural species, it’s a 50/50 chance of being born either!

I haven't seen any atronachs in the rp and it doesn't seem to be a popular species. Have you ever considered removing the species from the game or converting it to something else?

There have, in fact, been atronachs in the game and we currently do have two of them.

There’s a ton of possibility in the species, and for that reason we haven’t removed or changed it. We designed all of the species to be easily overlaid with various cultural myths/mores, and a rock creature is fairly common.

As to the popularity -- we’ve never really worked on the basis of that before. There’s always going to be one species that has the least characters!
