So first, let's do some criteria for what makes someone's acting compelling to me. I'm an actor/director and I love watching & working with actors who embody the following:

moment to moment focus goes to scene partner; emotional reactions are a direct response to scene partner stimulus (let's call this paying emotional attention; it's the single biggest thing in my book)

emotional range and subtlety; it's not just about the big feelings for the character (joy, rage, grief, etc) - can you show us the complex moments distinctly? the quieter feelings bubbling just below the surface? the feeling-many-things-at-once? the watching-each-emotion-evolve-at-the-speed-of-thought? the emotion-as-an-obstacle-in-this-situation?

commitment to the character such that we never see actor judgment of that character; commitment to honor and selflessly portray the character's needs, desires, fears, etc., without actor detachment or unwillingness to give oneself over to the character (let's call this being a vessel)

this is very hard to capture, and is largely based on audience perception, but another nice quality is being a chameleon; the actor is markedly different in the role compared to other roles played; all characters of the same actor feel distinct in performance (a lot of these actors I've only seen in one role, so I'm not counting this one as much)

also to a lesser extent, command of physicality that exerts a conscious actor intention over the character's body and movement; decisions about posture, gesture, motion, and grace or lack thereof, are intentional and available to the actor as tools of expression

Now, I have a long Thai BL to-watch list, so this is liable to evolve as I dive into more media. Some of these actors I've seen more of, some only a little... but for right now, with what I've seen, everyone on this list made a strong first impression and, if I've seen more of them, that impression stuck. I'm happy to give my little list of faves for GMM actors at the moment based on what I see of the above criteria:

(beyond this it got really hard to decide numerically, so I'm giving the bottom three spots in no particular order to Mark, Ohm, and Fluke P.)

Many of these also manage, through their performances, to raise the performance quality of their scene partners. So I would say Earth improves opposite Mix; Off improves opposite Gun, Ohm is very compelling opposite Nanon, etc. I haven’t really seen enough of them on their own to say anything else for now.

(Some non-GMM actors worth mentioning who meet the brief notably well are Apo and Fluke N. Both great. Bible too.)

Also, it should be noted that actors evolve with time - and they should! So I'll include some GMM actors (in no particular order) that do fit some criteria already and I'm excited to watch them grow in the future:

Gemini (already really good tbh)

Sea (lots of potential, handles subtle emotions well)

Force and Book (excited to see them in Only Friends, and watch them soak up the aura of acting kings FirstKhao, lol)

Satang (young but I like him so far)

Neo (looking forward to NeoMark, very curious about it)

Pond (good commitment but lacks focus)
