My Immediate Bad Mood (day 3 of the 3 day blog) #life #love #dating #notdating #higherexpectations #impossibleexpectations #singleforlife #blog #rouletteweekend So like I said yesterday, flea market guy was part of my bad mood. At some point after getting to the hotel with truck driver, flea market guy sent me a text.
Nice Guy but Not the Guy for Me.
Nothing like a first date...am I right?
Well this guy went from a first date to a 10th date really quickly. What I mean is, the second time we met, he had already deleted bumble from his phone and was talking about how he couldn’t believe he had already met someone.
Don’t get me wrong, I got exactly what I have been wishing for; I wanted to be chased, pursued, wooed...and that is exactly what he did.
I felt uneasy because I didn’t know how I felt about him just yet. I enjoyed his company but there was something missing. Finally on the third date it hit me: I was carrying the conversation. He didn’t ask me questions, not even the same question I asked him. For example:
Me: So what book are you reading these days?
Him: Nike Swoosh, it’s about the creator of Nike.
Me: Oh cool! Is it interesting? Are you enjoying it? What do you like about it?
Him: Yeah, it’s cool. I like biographies.
Me:....::waiting::...Nice.......I’m reading M Train by Patti Smith.
Him: Cool.
Yeah. So not the best. I also found myself not interested in learning more about what he was interested in. I didn’t want to learn from him and I got the vibe he felt the same way. We honestly didn’t have very much in common.
He was very giving and generous but I got the impression that he felt like all he had to do was show up, pay, and I’d be his. Not the case sir...
He was a nice guy just not the guy for me. We parted ways on good terms, which is always nice.
Moral of the story: Listen to your gut but don’t be too hasty.
