sorry if this is a weird question or if you’ve talked about it before, but what’s your opinion/experience with medication in relation to DID? I’ve been pondering getting medicated and wanted to get other people’s perspectives on it first, but feel free to disregard this ask! Thank you ^-^

i love medication. idk how i lived without it. im so free and my head is so clear with it. specially i'm on SSRIs (sertraline), and have a lot of freedom with regards to my medication. i've known other folks with DID benefit from atypical antipsychotics and mood stabilisers especially in the case of comorbid BPD.

the main thing with DID and medication is that while there's no medications written up 'for' DID there is a lot out there that may help with any specific symptoms a person with DID suffers from that are particularly disabling. and, like always, not all medication is going to be helpful or work for you, so just trust ya gut, advocate for yourself, and protect your autonomy like everyone should.

anecdotally (heard from a lot of folks), antipsychotics limit voices-hearing which can inhibit internal communication. but that's about all i'm aware of with regards to common unexpected consequences.

How do you rip the files? I'm trying to figure out a way to get all the books / dialogue texts from the files of funger 1 and 2 so I can write down the lore. If you could help me, that'd be much appreciated :)

Despite me running this blog, I am not a wizard when it comes to tearing apart game files. I use this website, which decrypts the images without a key due to the compatible filetype. (from what I understand)

When it comes to in-game text, I cannot help you, sorry. Maybe some of this blog's followers might be able to give advice? If not, I think the next best person to ask is someone who has made a mod for this game, since it requires intimate knowledge of the game's code.

Alternatively, the Fear & Hunger wiki.gg website is a reliable source for the in-game books and documents, as well as party talks and some cutscenes. They do not have everything, however.

At some point I would like to rip unused dialogue, but this is not a skill I have at the moment.

Autism life hack: consider reading people's emotions as a series of patterns and equations. This frustrating thing happened earlier + they always have that smile when they're dealing with someone clearly frustrating = ohhh they must be annoyed right now. Or "good morning" x 3 months you've known them + *sigh* "hi" = something happened and they're not as happy as usual.

AND THEN. Second autism life hack:

Ask generic questions showing that you have Recognized™ their emotions to build connection even when they seem redundant. A coworker is visibly tired + "You seem off, you okay?" = usually "oh, yea, I'm fine, just tired" BUT in their little human monkey brain you have just given them a small shot of oxytocin because their emotions recognize you have Recognized™ them and they feel seen and this is good! It's basically using cognitive bias (psychology definition) to Pavlov them into recognizing you as a comforting presence and therefore a Friend™.

And et voila, you now have meaningful connections with people and are only sometimes seen as overbearingly annoying and fake but that's usually by people who have their own trauma around people expressing concern/interest in others.
