on one hand laura was for sure playing it so that stone was influencing imogen to be more. idk. power hungry? that's not quite the right word but like what i'm saying is that gem had become some kind of lifeline to her when it definitely shouldn't have. she sleeps with it in her hand every night she's gaining spells she claims she's never had access to before (from a roleplaying standpoint ofc). i can't remember exactly what was revealed by the identity spell other than it was part of a bigger chunk in the feywild but like iirc it absolutely had like some kind of malicious draw to it. idk. but anyways what I'm say is imogen was DEVASTATED when all that went down and she was so quick to think laudna had betrayed her. and on one hand imogen is a very cynical woman she finds it very hard to see that most if not any people are good. but laudna was the person who showed her that wasn't true she was there for her and brought her out of that mindset. so it's so hard for me to believe she would jump to that conclusion precisely because it is laudna. THAT IS. if she wasn't being influenced by some outside force ie that weird ass feywild gem. what i'm kind of saying is i think imogen is very vulnerable and may be actively heading down a dark path if she (a) has lost faith in the one person giving her hope that there is good in people and (b) is now relying on powerful, unknown, outside forces to guide her
Nope not what I meant to say
