There are moments in my life when, even tho my family supported me, they did not agree with me and they did not understand me. I never held that against them. Moments like this a reminder for me and for them that when they stood at the front of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church and “gave me back to God” the Most High actually knew how to take it the rest of the way. This is such a kind affirmation. Actually, kind isn’t a powerful enough word to express how this moves me. What a blessed life it is when you show up because the earth is groaning waiting for us to be revealed! 😍 Have you listened to the @goodancestorpodcast episode with myself and @laylafsaad yet? I mentioned this before but I need to further lean into how perfect and strategic God is. Do you see the 3 women in this photo? We did not know each other before social media. We did not know @laylafsaad (who lives in Qatar on a whole other continent) before the World Wide Web - But these three small town black girls somehow aligned on this groundbreaking #Podcast series to be the first, second, and third episodes. There are several sermons here: 1. Jesus was a small town boy. Most ppl where he was from couldn’t see him as more than just “Mary’s baby.” The savior of the world was from a little town doing a small job with his earth father before being launched into the work of his Heavenly “Father.” *I don’t care where you’re from, how they perceive you, or how small your work seems... Show up. 2. The earth was in pain waiting for me, @austinchanning, @rachel.cargle and @laylafsaad to meet because we are being revealed as God’s body THRU the celebration, love and lifting of each other. We have not waited for anyone to give us permission - we are affirming ourselves. We are the ones we have been waiting for. Literally... Show up! 3. The fact that these 3 small town Ohio girls who did not know each other this time last year connected to be a part of this groundbreaking work, in this moment at this time... think abt the billions of breaths taken by our ancestors, moves that were made, decisions that changed the course of familial destines just to get us to this moment! DO YOU NOT SEE HOW MUCH THE STEPS OF THE RIGHTEOUS (those that do right) ARE ORDERED BY GOD?! Just because we, all 3 of us, were found doing our God and our people’s work - we get to be used by God in this holy way. This is divine. You are witnessing a supernatural occurrence. Do you notice miracles happening all around you for you?... Show up! (*) There are more of us. We are unique but we aren’t rare. We are not other we are just obedient. There is a divine, holy, supernatural thing happening on your behalf in you as a result of your faith and your obedience as we speak. Are you listening? Watching? Moving? In place?
