You're not alone if pancakes are one of your favorite breakfast foods; there are a hundred various methods to prepare these delicate, fluffy morning favorites to suit everyone's palate. Next up for meditation we have Goodful’s channel – although they appear to be done with meditation, the description of the video above does link to another individual who continues with the meditations, here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZVJN6ow1IeGWH6HkaNqu_g . He remains active, having updates within both April and May.
I have not explored his videos outside of the Goodful channel, so I will only speak to what Goodful offers.
Notable first is that their meditation series has a lot of focus on emotions. There is meditation for stress, meditation for anger, meditation for anxiety, self-love, and other things. Their meditation range is 5-15 minutes, with the average being around 10 minutes.
They also have walking meditations for those so inclined. I did not use those, so I cannot speak to them.
The ones I listened to were all done by John, so the speaker is male. I found that voice, paired with the music in the background, to be complimentary. The music never seemed too loud, and I only noticed it when there was silence. I’m not sure if this is an effect of the voice, or if it the music actually was quieter than in other meditations.
Unfortunately, Goodful itself doesn’t offer many meditations. Their channel is diverse and offers a range of other things. They do have a playlist for it to make it easier to find, it contains 13 videos. Their last update was a month ago, meditation for children, so they may continue to update – just slowly, compared to others. John’s channel could be a useful resource if you find you like this style, however I can’t say how his own videos differ from what he provides on Goodful.
If you like repetition, this may be good for you, as you can use videos that target what you’re working on (like anger or stress), and then move through the day after doing something familiar.
Another thing I like about these meditations in particular is that they open and close the same way: three deep breaths. I find this to be immensely useful as it helps to put me into the mood. It’s akin to a “touchstone” that I spoke of earlier, only I failed at using a touchstone. Instead, it is an action that remains the same, and helps to center, rather than an object. Thus, I don’t have to actively remember to touch something, I just have to do the breaths, and it helps me sink into it.
Of course, overall I find the guided-breathing parts to be useful, so that could be why it’s more useful to me than other methods.
I didn’t really have any complaints about this series. I didn’t notice anything spiritual seep in, so there was nothing that became annoying about listening to it.
