This trip was in running for top 10 favorite trips even though we got caught in the rain and had one pretty wet night. We climbed a bunch, ran into some goats that were hiding from the storm, and over all had a great time. Arkansas, I will be back.

GoodRock Charity Event news article

In an excellent demonstration of concern for the community we live in, the CEIBS MBA Music Club helped organize a fund raising event to help orphans in XinJiang province. The event, Love Rocks in Spring, organized by the Good Rock Foundation was a success and the proceeds of it will go to further support a bakery that the foundation had helped establish.

The event started with the founder Mrs. Jacqui Shurr of the Good Rock Foundation, explaining the work being undertaken by the Good Rood Foundation and thanking everyone for their support.

There was an art auction where the works of young artists and professionals were auctioned for the cause. During the event, there were excellent musical and dance performances by school kids from Concordia International School. Some of these artists as young as 13 years old, not only displayed great talent but also a deep understanding of the cause they were supporting. The event’s host, Teacher David Chaveriat did an excellent job to encourage some of the first time performers while keeping the audience engaged too.

Behind the successful performances lay long hours of practice. The CEIBS Music Club President Macos Majo, who was also the Music Director for the event helped train the kids for the event. The CEIBS band also accompanied external singers such as Mar and Audrey with their performances. Some professional musicians such as guitarist James Zhou and the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church group also staged good performances for a good cause. CEIBS student and entrepreneur Ramiro Gomez lent his melodious voice and some wine to liven up the event.

The CEIBS band comprising of Sean Tan leading the vocals, Eiichi Okawa strumming the lead guitar, Birottam Dutta on the Keyboard, Stav Shvartz on the drums and Marcos with the bass, was the star performance at the event. Such was the popularity of the closing performance by the CEIBS band that the audience was left wondering whether they were from a music or a business school?
