Hello Goodtype Tuesday! Our pal Aaron Draplin (@draplin), designer and founder of Draplin Design Co., co-founder of @fieldnotesbrand and pioneer of the "thick lines" style has done something super rad for us in celebration of reaching our 1 million followers milestone! He and the Field Notes Brand team made special limited edition Goodtype Field Notes notebooks! And you have a chance to get your hands on some! Including the special "Strength in Letters" pin designed by our pal, Mark Caneso! Aaron Draplin has a very unique design style (swipe to see some of his work). One that can be recognized a mile away. It’s so hard to pick a style! I’ve done lots of lettering and calligraphy but my fall-back style that I’m comfortable with is copperplate writing (here I lettered it) with flourishes. It adds an elegant touch that I’ve been slowly adding to my lettering pieces to make it more my style.

Talk about a style you can immediately recognize! Thanks for participating @jasonnaylor! ・・・ For this weeks #goodtypetuesday, it’s all about style, and my style relies on a full spectrum of color and variation in letter shapes, colors, gradients and patterns. My work is focused on messages of kindness, love and positivity, and using variation and color, I am able to bring those feelings out with an explosive and festive attitude. I like to use a maximalist design because my messages are not passive, they are proud and confident! And I love to use all the colors because to me, they represent individuality and diversity. It is more than just style, it’s about feelings, emotions, and experience. With my lettering and other designs each letter is different because everyone’s style is unique and individual. I chose to draw on a soda can to represent artists indulging and quenching their thirst on their style alone, there is no one like you so embrace your talent. •• With my style of lettering is more weird and whacky as well as colorful. I like to have fun with lettering and make it different. Kicking off today’s #GoodtypeTuesday is @tamara_arkatova! ・・・ Own your style for today’s @goodtype and @draplin lettering challenge. I can’t really say that I possess any certain style in lettering yet, even though people say that I do. But some particles of style are already noticeable. The usage of textures, bold graphics, experimental letterforms, simple color palette and almost no swashes and decorations. I love it when my work looks non-digital, and I still cry with blood when it comes to vector work. Own your style! This week's @goodtype prompt was to letter own your style in 'your style'. For now (because there's still a long long way to go!)
