I have a ridiculous 4 yards of this 60″ wide Italian 100% cotton doublecloth in a twill weave. Sadly, it does not match the lilac stripe in the silk.
It’s medium to heavy weight, being doublecloth, which is literally a reversible fabric made of two fabrics linked by binding yarns which allows thicker fabrics, complex textures and two “right sides”. Because doublecloth is two fabrics held together, it’s usually got two contrasting “right” sides--this one doesn’t.
I think it would make a nice cape, but I don’t know what it would go with.
But more to the point, I don’t know why I own 4 yards of lilac doublecloth. It’s a quality fabric, but it’s a textured lilac cotton--not the sort of thing I’m likely to wear. Maybe I could make a nice coat out it. You can never have too many coats.
