We love nothing more than introducing people to the wonderful world of sewing. This course is for complete beginners, even if you have never used a sewing machine before, this course will give you the confidence to work and progress onto lots of different projects. It will enable you to progress onto the level 2 sewing, Level 1 Quilting, Level 1 and 2 Dressmaking, Level 1 applique and all the sewing Christmas crafts. All patterns are included in each class and a cushion insert pad is included for your cushion. A list of items needed for each class will be sent to you 3 weeks beforehand. What you will learn: Set up your machine Thread machine and wind bobbin properly Check straight stitch and zigzag stitch tension is correct, practice your stitches and how to reverse. Pin a cushion pattern to your fabric, cut out. learn a narrow double turned hem, sew cushion fabric pieces together, finish cushion opening. Make a makeup bag. Pin and cut out makeup bag, insert zip and sew makeup bag together. Introduction to dressmaking Level 1, the simple PJ bottoms Introducing you to dressmaking will show you the very basic techniques to allow you the confidence to move onto more sewing/dressmaking projects. Select to correct size to cut out using your measurements pin your pattern onto you fabric correctly and cut out correctly Sew your PJ'S together learning how to hem Seam allowances Zigzag raw edges.
