Okay honest answer: Game of Thrones is excellent from seasons 1-4 and good for 5-6. So I would definitely recommend watching those.

If by that point you want to see it through, watch the last two seasons. 7 is where things started to fall apart and 8 is... yeah. Honestly you could just watch one of the many YouTube video essay rants about it instead of watching the final season.

But 1-4 (and 5-6)? Yes yes I highly recommend! The show really was a lot of fun. And then you can join me in some of my Game of Thrones posting sprees haha!

Is it weird that I’m not that really into GoT anymore? I am grateful for the friends through that time, but the vibe has kind of just gone & I’m not excited about the fandom/ actors that much anymore? ~I still appreciate them but it’s just like meh 😂~

Honestly I think the betrayal of S8 left a hole in my fandom brain which The Witcher has slot right into. Half a year of complaining about GoT then suddenly it's all fucking bards and monster hunting.

It's weird because most fandoms I'm a part of, even after the original thing is over, I'm still keen to get my grubby hands all over. Not so much with GoT. Feeling okay about never getting the GoT tattoo I planned...

And anyway, if GRRM ever releases the next fucking book I'll be back in with bells on 🤡

The last two seasons are why nobody really talks about game of thrones anymore, all that character development they created in 1-6 was demolished by Benioff and Weiss in 7 and 8.

I’m rewatching the series at the moment and I’m at the part where Eddard Stark gets beheaded, I’ll never forget how chaotic it felt to see that the first time around. They really made me into my boy Jon Snow, didn’t know nothing because I really thought he was gonna stay as one of the main characters and somehow be saved! 😭😭

I’m a GOT geek can I bother you with some of your GOT opinions as I continue watching the show? 🤔

That made me feel soooo NAIVE. Like, I didn't know a show can do me dirty like that. For someone who has seen hundreds of films and shows, I thought my heart was safe lol.

Of course you can bother me about GOT. Even though House of the Dragon is not nearly as good as GOT, I still watch it because it gives me a sense of nostalgia... like, at least it's good to be back in the GOT universe :)

Hey! Thanks for answering my ask about GOT and of course I read the tags (always do) but like you said you didn’t have hbo or anything and that’s exactly what my problem was is that it wasn’t even in my country which is why I ended up ‘unofficially’ streaming sksksk

aw of course! that’s definitely understandable, i usually only watch shows + movies off of netflix aside from marvel which ends up feeling super limited despite the fact that there’s dozens upon dozens of shows to choose from lmao. i think your enjoyment of the show is still super valid though even though you didn’t watch it on typical streaming websites!
