not that anyone cares but the reason that 8x05 upsets me so much is because when i first began reading asoiaf I was in a really terrible place having lost two people who I loved very dearly and so I could relate to these characters who were so defined by grief (i.e. Arya, Catelyn, etc) and really latched onto their storylines and the novels as a whole as a form of escape so to see characters I treasured so dearly destroyed so thoroughly literally makes me want to weep

i decided to not watch got this year bc it caused me unnecessary stress and anger. (i actually feel cleaner for not having that trash on my screen each week).

my next step is to stop talking about it online - like stop complaining about its objectification of women etc etc - bc i’m quite sure that these furies of online activity, the articles, the tagging etc, just gives the show more traction and makes the show runners think they’re being ~controversial/starting discussions/ being culturally relevant

and i sure as hell don’t want to reinforce that shit.

I agree with you and Guile. I've just skimmed the threads and it seems very fishy. Anyone could go in and start a thread like this, and many could make it more plausible.
