Well That Didn't Last Long 💀
So remember that girlfriend I posted about like a month ago? The one I speedran dating with? Yeah that's over now lmao
(I AM ONLY MAKING THIS POST IN THE FIRST PLACE SO THAT PEOPLE DON’T ASSUME I HAVE A GIRLFRIEND WHEN I DON’T HAVE A GIRLFRIEND NOW AND I AM TECHNICALLY SINGLE NOW… SO…)
At first everything was great - we talked a lot, I told her I loved her, we made the timezone difference work somehow. But then she started responding less and less. I thought maybe it was just the time difference or she was busy with work or something, so I tried sending fewer messages thinking maybe I was being too much. Didn't help. She still barely responded.
And then today she hits me with the "hey i'm sorry for disappearing, i've been thinking and i'm not in the right place to pursue this" message. Which like... okay I appreciate the honesty I guess? But she could've told me that weeks ago instead of just ghosting me and leaving me wondering what the fuck I did wrong.
The kicker is she was posting about her ex the whole time while ignoring my messages. So yeah, pretty sure she wasn't over her ex at all and just tried to use me as a distraction or rebound or whatever. That feels great 🙃
I spent a whole month overthinking everything - was I texting too much? Not enough? Did I say something wrong? Turns out it was never about me, she just wasn't ready and didn't have the guts to say it until now.
Anyway I think I'm done with the whole traditional relationship thing for a while. Like even online dating with all those expectations and rules about communication and where things are "going" - it's exhausting. I'm polyamorous anyway so why am I trying to force myself into this one-person-at-a-time serious relationship box?
I'm thinking more casual from now on. And before anyone gets confused about what I mean by casual - I'm not talking about just hooking up or short-term flings or whatever. For me casual dating means I can still love people and have long-term connections (like years even), but without all the traditional relationship pressure and expectations. No stress about texting the "perfect" amount, no assumed progression toward marriage or life planning, no making someone my entire world or expecting to be theirs. Just genuine connections that exist as they are without all the weight and anxiety of traditional relationship rules. The vibe stays chill even if it lasts a long time, you know?
Because honestly? All that intensity and second-guessing in traditional relationships is exhausting. I don't want to spend another month wondering if I'm fucking everything up when the real problem has nothing to do with me.
One month of getting my hopes up just to get ghosted and dumped is enough of that bullshit thanks 💀
