as per request to the lovely in my inbox who wanted help with dark scenes in game of thrones. there are two layers in there that i say to adjust if needed. one for scenes a bit too heavy on red and one for if it’s just ridiculously bright. ummm....that’s about it, not much else to say. enjoy! ♡♡

hi i love your gifs <3 do you have any psd recs or tips for particularly dark scenes? i always have trouble with the lighting especially w got eps. and yours are always so bright and pretty!

hi omg you’re so sweet i’m so happy! to be honest i haven’t used anyone else’s psds in years, i make my own but usually individually color each scene to make sure it gets the coloring i think it needs. got is such a pain to color, especially at first. one of my favorite tools in photoshop is curves. next time you gif got, try the “auto” feature on curves and see what it recommends! it doesn’t always work, but i’d say it helps me out about 90% of the time and gives the gifs a lot more brightness without diminishing the quality.

here’s that last gif with a selective color layer (+8 black, and under yellow it’s -33 yellow and +9 cyan), hue/saturation layer (-50 saturation of yellows) and, you guessed it, another auto curves layer:

and that’s it! that’s my biggest tip i can give when it comes to coloring any scene, especially in dark shows like got. here’s a link to all my psds and if i can help you out more, i’d love to!

i do! here’s the psd i used on my most recent s8 gifset. you’ll probably need to adjust the curves/selective colors depending on what scene you use it for. hope it helps!
