The younguns have started lumping Gen X in with Boomers and this is completely antithetical to the entire zeitgeist.
My latchkey kid ass was out there for Rock the Vote, protests against the W. Bush administration, singing along with Rocky Horror Picture Show. We voted for Obama and the best other options out there. Shit, I'm the walking stereotype of the "Blue Haired Socialist Democrat", and I'm the vice president of my local labor union.
Our entire generation's motto was "Whatever." But when it came down to it, we were just as politically aware and active as "the kids" are now. Don't give up on us. We have your back, it's just that our backs hurt now.
