─ • JAEBUM
a black wolf, the definite alpha of the pack. he’s evidently the most dominant yet wisest of the group considering he’s their leader, and has always been. jaebum can be seen as quite hostile, but only when he needs to be, and otherwise a very collected wolf.
─ • MARK
mark is a grey beta wolf, and a lead warrior. he’s always the right hand wolf, handling commands from jb, their leader, and is mostly quiet, but very aggressive. just don’t get on his bad side, alright?
─ • JINYOUNG
jinyoung is a dark grey, elegant wolf. he’s a beta, and a hunter, and often aids in surveying the area and looks for food in the process, and calls on the pack once he’s found a stop, as well as a few deer to chew on.
─ • JACKSON
jackson was found as a rogue and was almost rejected from the pack, but mark saw the good in him and asked jaebum to let him in after being watched for a while. jackson is a black wolf, one that’s very shirt and cold at first, but highly loyal and opens up over time.
─ • YOUNGJAE
youngjae - a dark grey delta. he helps train the omegas of the pack, and is a definite mood maker and comic relief in the group. he’s a lil happy wolf that nobody really suspects to act the way he does, and is always there when a wold feels down.
─ • BAMBAM
bambam would be a grey omega that’s at first used a decoy, but is soon realized to be too previous to be put under such danger. he now helps jinyoung scavenge and survey the area, doing his best to follow in the footsteps of the elder.
─ • YUGYEOM
yugyeom, a gorgeous white delta wolf. he takes part in training but is also labelled the healer of the pack. he was the one that helped jackson get back on his feet and treated his wounds and marks, getting the black wolf ready for survival once more.
summary 》 Aera turned into petals, as it blew through the wind, showing that she passed away as days after her passing, Jaebeom’s pack were being given scrolls that was written by Aera.

warnings/author’s note 》 a long post!, angst all the way :(, i’m afraid this is the end…. maybe….
“I wish we had more time together. But what I believe is that, in the gardens of memory, in a palace of dreams, that's where you and I will meet. You will forever and always be my number one, Aera.”
2 days.
It took 2 days for Aera’s body to be completely paralyzed.
Unfortunately, the moment when she was writing the last scroll, her fingers slowly went numb, as she realized what was happening - she had little energy left hence she used it to enchant a spell on her everyday fountain pen, as it writes by itself according to Aera’s words of thoughts.
Time passed by and the news of the princess' health was known to all of the royal castle workers, and unfortunately, words had spread to other neighboring kingdoms.
Every royal servant and workers who visited the princess tended to shed tears, seeing her unusual pale face, laying on the bed as her eyes were mostly closed.
The White Queen and Grandma Kim had always stood by the princess’s side, accompanying other kingdom’s royal family to visit her.
The Queen could tell that her daughter was loved by everyone due to her kindness and companion that even the NCT clan and X clan came - unknown to the princess, both clans cried as soon as they saw the state of the princess of Aerina and Morian’s Kingdom.
Jaebeom’s pack were busy than usual, going to different parts of the island to get help - finding any way to cure their princess.
They didn’t get to have a rest as they ran across kingdoms to kingdoms.
But one day, one by one of Jaebeom’s pack, they started to feel a throbbing pain on their chest during one of the full moon - as the pack made their way back to Aerina’s Kingdom, to find the sight of the princess’s hair color that had been darkest, shiniest brown has slowly faded to white.
A way to tell that she is slowly dying.
“Oh no.” Jaebeom muttered to himself, his mind slowly breaking into pieces.
“Why.. does it look like my room is full of people?” Aera muttered under her breath, in which she could hear more quiet sobs and sniffs - definitely knowing that there are people in the room.
It was scary for her.
Her senses are weakening, as well as her body movements.
Aera knew that she wouldn’t make it tomorrow, not even today.
“..That’s because everyone’s here, Aera. We all are here for you, my love.” The White Queen softly replied. Aera could only turn her head slightly, towards where the voice came from.
Yugyeom, who was the nearest to Aera, held onto Aera’s fragile hands. “Aera.. It’s me… Please stay a little longer, please,” Yugyeom pleaded, his voice shaking.
He couldn’t hold onto his feelings anymore as he decided to let it out, making the others feel vulnerable too since their youngest is crying.
All of them knew Yugyeom was the type to try his best to hold onto his tears, no matter what situation he faces - but this, this situation was something Yugyeom had to let go of his feelings.
Bambam who was at the opposite of Yugyeom, couldn’t help but sob quietly as his head went downwards, his hands gripping onto Aera’s dress slightly - a sign to show her that he was there.
He has been quietly watching Aera every night.
He wouldn’t miss a day to check onto Aera - who would just lay on the bed and as night arrives, Bambam would let his tears out silently, alone. He knew she wouldn’t make it one day.
Thinking of Aera leaving him, Bambam let out his tears, making some of the older ones go towards his side - which was Mark and Jackson.
Aside from Bambam, Mark and Jackson were also the ones who would regularly visit Aera, in secret - because Jackson didn’t want Jaebeom to know that he would skip some days to go hunting, to see the princess.
So Jackson would invite Mark along, knowing the older one wants to come alone although he was being silent about it.
Whenever there is Jackson, the day would always end up with laughter - and for the first time, Aera would laugh softly and weakly to hear Jackson rambling about his day and Mark would always have to ask Jackson to slow down.
“Rest well, Aera. I’m happy that you came back to us - even if you and I didn’t get to spend more time together,” whispered Jinyoung, while caressing her side hair, making Aera hum while smiling.
As much as Jinyoung wants Aera to live longer, seeing her like this, in a condition where she couldn’t even more freely and seeing her weakening, it hurts him so bad that he just wanted her back to her usual self.
Even if she has to die. Thinking of the word ‘die’ makes Jinyoung tear up automatically, not knowing that tears already flow down his cheeks.
“Grandma Kim, how long—
“Not for long. She is trying her best to hold on now,” answered Grandma Kim to Youngjae - as she gazed towards Aera, who was silently looking at Jinyoung.
Youngjae could only gulp down the lump on her throat, knowing that flowers or plants couldn’t save her. He has tried all sorts of medicines, but none could make Aera come back to life - according to Grandma Kim.
There was so much he wanted to say to her, but he couldn’t let out any words - even if he wanted to say a word, instead he let out a sob, causing Jaebeom to hold onto Youngjae’s hands tightly.
If Jaebeom could go crazy, he would any moment now - but for the sake of his friends and the princess who is dying at her bed, he decided to get himself together, even if it is slowly killing him inside.
Seeing Aera becoming weaker, he would always blame himself - if he knew about her condition, he wouldn't have said those mean words to her.
All this while she had been keeping this to herself, why didn’t she say anything about this?
A part of him was mad at her but at the same time, maybe she didn’t want to look weak for her people and he gets her - the both of them have similar personalities.
‘Aera.. why didn’t you tell me?’ Jaebeom questioned in his voice of thoughts, staring towards Aera with a slight frown - to see Aera smiling slightly, as she slowly turned towards Jaebeom with her droopy eyes.
‘....No matter how much I wanted to change the future, destiny already wrote down my fate, Jaebeom. It’s the only way,’ answered Aera and that’s when everyone’s eyes fell towards Jaebeom - hearing her voice, Youngjae and Yugyeom automatically broke down.
Her response made Grandma Kim go towards Aera, putting her wrinkly hand onto Aera’s forehead - a deep frown and a soft sigh came from the elderly as she turned towards the White Queen who was in the corner shedding her own tears.
“Aerina, it’s time.”
Feeling all eyes turned towards Grandma Kim, the elderly looked towards the boys.
“I’m afraid you have to say your last words to her. Aerina and I will be outside,” stated Grandma Kim before guiding the weeping White Queen as they exited the room, leaving only Aera the 7 guys alone.
“I’m running out of time, am I?” questioned Aera softly, which she could feel a throbbing pain in her chest, causing her to let out an expression that caused the 7 guys to go closer to her.
Everyone in the room is running out of time.
Staring at Aera with tears flowing down their cheeks, Mark decided to speak first. “Thank you for everything, Aera. You have done so much to restore our home. Rest well,”
Though Mark’s words were simple, the way he said his words - everyone could tell he really meant it, hearing how hard he is trying not to let out a shaky voice.
She meant so much to him - although they did not interact that much, but the way they look at each other, the way she offers to comb his fur when he would always reject her, the times when Aera would approach him when he had trouble with situation regarding Morian, Mark knows Aera does care for him.
“Mark, you have to kiss her, on the cheeks of course,” Jackson urged, a tradition for the wolves that if one of their pack is dying, they have to give them a goodbye kiss on their face.
Although Aera wasn’t fully in their pack still, everyone somehow considered as one of Jaebeom’s.
“I don’t know..” Mark muttered, his eyes turning towards Jaebeom who was avoiding his gaze - at the same time giving Mark the green light. The oldest knew the alpha, who was rejected, still had romantic feelings for her, although his feelings for her are starting to fade.
Mark went nearer towards her face, remembering each feature of her face before giving her a quick peck on the cheek.
He then glanced towards Jackson and Yugyeom who were just near him, urging them to talk it out - afraid that it might be too late if they delay their time.
Yugyeom let out a shaky voice, his hand reaching out for Aera’s hands.
“I’m going to miss you….. Just so you know that family isn't blood. You're my family, Aera.” Yugyeom sniffled as he slightly gripped onto her soft hands, while giving a quick peck on the opposite side of where Mark had given his kiss.
There was so much love as the youngest stared into Aera’s pale face, the colors of her face were fading as well as life, making Yugyeom to start weeping out.
He couldn’t bear to see the princess suffer and eventually die.
Yugyeom thought she would stay forever this time, but of course, ‘forever’ doesn’t exist in this world.
There was so much Yugyeom wanted to do with her - going to the Dragon’s Village together with Grandma Kim, pranking Jaebeom and Jackson till they went insane, and disturbing naughty wolf cubs.
Knowing that she will pass on, Yugyeom has no one to turn to - causing him to sob out his feelings.
Mark had to advise him to come out of the room - with Mark accompanying him. Knowing it would be the last time he would see Aera, Mark turned towards Aera with a small smile that showed sadness, as he left the room with the weeping Yugyeom.
“Princess, I hope you can hear me. I don’t know… I thought you would stay a little longer. I wanted to show you what the others and I had planned for Morian. But it seems you had to go, and I understand. Just like what Mark said, you have done so much for both of your kingdoms and.. I’m proud to have someone - a friend, a tutor, a princess to my kingdom, our kingdom, by our side. We love you, Princess Aera.” confessed Bambam, his voice began to quave in sorrow.
He couldn’t help but to let out the tears that he had tried to hold onto, he finally let it out as the room filled with his weeps.
Bambam really loves Aera - he treats her as his own sister, they would always help each other out even if at the end of the day they had to be reprimanded by others.
Bambam couldn’t believe this at all.
‘Surely this is just a sick nightmare, right? If the princess is dead, who is going to look over Morian Kingdom?’
“Bambam,” A voice called, making Bambam look towards who called him, to see Jinyoung gesturing towards Aera who had her eyes closed, realizing he was openly day-dreaming as he finally stood up while leaning against Aera’s face.
“Rest well, our princess,” muttered Bambam before giving a peck on the outer corner of her eyes, as he immediately walked away, not even once looking back.
The older ones turned towards Youngjae, seeing that he had his eyes downcast - not knowing what to say, as he too couldn’t believe that their princess is on the point of death.
He knew. He was there in the mirror dimension with Jinyoung and Aera herself.
He didn’t know the day would come too soon.
With a shaky sigh, Youngjae crouches down while holding onto Aera’s weak yet soft hands. “Aera… Princess Aera..” Youngjae softly called out, waiting for her response but instead, silence and the quiet sobs from the older ones were the only response he got.
Youngjae’s bottom lip quivered, as tears rolled down on his cheeks, as he started to accept the reality that Aera is slowly dying. Staring at her pale yet beautiful face, Youngjae let out a slight choke then a scoff.
“Even if you are slowly passing on, you still look lovely…. Thank you for everything, Aera.” Youngjae whispered before pecking a kiss on the corner of her forehead. As he was leaving, Youngjae stole a few glances towards her as he finally let out a few sobs, before exiting the room.
Which now left with Jaebeom, Jinyoung and Jackson.
The 3 of them were running out of time, the colors on Aera’s hair were almost draining, an obvious sign that she is slowly passing on in Aerina’s kingdom.
Jinyoung’s eyes began to water seeing the drastic change.
“I hope this is all just a bad dream. Gosh, princess. We’re going to miss you and your rebellious times, and most importantly, you have stuck to the word of a ‘princess’. I am proud that you are my best friend, a star, also a princess to a kingdom where I was born. Till then, become a star and do visit us in our dreams. We love you, Princess Aera.” Jinyoung managed to say his words, though he was trying so hard not to break down - afraid that he wouldn't be able to speak.
Jinyoung didn’t hesitate to give her a kiss on the opposite eye where Bambam had kissed her. His thumb lightly caressed his cheek as he studied her features very carefully, not knowing that his tears were already rolling down his own cheeks.
Jinyoung looked towards Jaebeom and Jackson as their heads were downwards, not wanting to meet his own eyes - knowing they would break down. Wordlessly, Jinyoung took a last look towards Aera, before turning his back towards her.
Jaebeom and Jackson knew he exited the door, hearing slight sobs from outside.
The room was filled with complete silence.
“Do you want to talk to her first?” Jaebeom offered, his eyes slightly gazing towards Jackson, seeing his eyes red and puffy, knowing the man was crying.
Jackson nodded slightly, crouching down beside the princess, holding onto her hand firmly - as he started sobbing as it slowly turned to blubbers where he was letting out words that weren’t clear.
This made Jaebeom to crouch down beside him, his hands wrapping onto Jackson’s side, hugging the very heartbroken man.
“Jackson, you have to speak. Aera doesn’t understand what you are saying.” Jaebeom softly told him, as he was quietly sobbing - his hand didn’t even let go of Aera’s.
“I don’t know what to say, Jaebeom. It hurts very bad and I really don’t know how and what to say at all. All I really know is that I like her more than I should! I didn’t even have the chance to say it to her!” Jackson whimpered, his confession caused Jaebeom to rub his back, his way of showing that he understands him.
“....Me too….” Jaebeom whispered, eyes still towards Aera.
Soon, Jackson’s sobs slowly softens, letting go from Jaebeom’s side.
He went nearer towards Aera’s face.
“I wish we had more time together. But what I believe is that, in the gardens of memory, in a palace of dreams, that's where you and I will meet. You will forever and always be my number one, Aera.” said Jackson, trying his best not to let out any sobs, as he gazed into Aera’s face in adoration.
‘I love you, Aera. I will always love you, forever and always.’
Jackson thought to himself, before standing up, giving her a peck on top of her head. His hand caressing her hair, as his finger slowly left at the tip of her hair.
“I’ll join the others outside. You deserve a moment with her.” Jackson told Jaebeom, as the alpha quietly nodded.
“Thanks.” Jaebeom muttered towards Jackson, as he smiled sadly, his eyes moving towards the princess for a moment before turning his back towards her.
After Jackson left, Jaebeom turned towards Aera.
“First of all, I would like to apologize for what I said. I know you are sad, it’s obvious and I regretted not talking to you after that day. I’m starting to regret it now and I’m afraid it will stick to me. I’m going to miss you, Aera - and yes, I do still love you although your heart belongs to Jackson.” Jaebeom said softly, his hands holding onto Aera’s, already feeling that her hands were starting to get cold.
“..You know, I will never regret loving you. That’s a promise and… thank you for loving me, even when I don't feel lovable.” continued Jaebeom, as his fingers landed to Aera’s cheeks, as he slowly caressed it.
Jaebeom leans against Aera’s face, unknowing that he was quietly sobbing, not wanting others to hear - as he went nearer towards her forehead, giving her a peck on the forehead as he closed his eyes, letting his tears flow.
Just then, Jaebeom felt his hand that was holding onto Aera’s, as it felt light weight.
Jaebeom immediately opened his eyes, and he immediately backed away - in front of him was Aera, her body slowly turning into flower petals, flowing through the air.
He didn’t even realized that a ring had fallen from Aera’s body.
His shock might have caused the others to feel him, as the rest who were standing outside quickly went into the room - as they see the same thing as what Jaebeom is seeing.
Aera’s body, from her toes to her head, turns into flower petals, and once the top of her head had been transformed, the wind blew the petals as they blew out of the open window of the room.
“She’s gone.” said Grandma Kim, as the silence filled with sorrow.
It’s been 3 days after the princess’s death, and news has spread drastically that the crown princess of Aerina and Morian Kingdom has passed away - and the citizens have been mourning still, with pictures and flowers being placed at the front of the castle entrance of Aerina’s Kingdom mostly.
The castle has been quiet, as the royal workers were mourning too.
But not exactly for Grandma Kim and the White Queen, as they were holding onto scrolls that were on both of their arms. They entered the meeting room, to see Jaebeom’s pack.
As soon as they saw the elderly and the Queen, all of them immediately stood up and bowed to both of them.
“Your majesty, what is with the scrolls?” Jaebeom questioned curiously, seeing more than 10 scrolls were on each of their hands. He was surprised that they could carry all of that.
“These.. are from Aera, written personally from her.” The Queen stated, and immediately as Aera’s name was being heard, their eyes widened slightly.
“All of it?” asked Jinyoung and the Queen nodded with a small smile.
Both Grandma Kim and the Queen began to distribute the scrolls according to the names.
Some of them could see that the scrolls had the names of neighboring kingdom names and the names that they knew too, which were NCT and X Clan.
They were even more surprised that Zen’s name was there too, though he is still a child.
Each one of them got a hold of one scroll but Jaebeom receives 2 scrolls, each given by the older ones, but Grandma Kim holds onto one of the ends.
“Aera said that this was for all of you. Since you’re the alpha, you have to read it aloud.” told Grandma Kim, as she looked at Jaebeom with a face that had never been serious as ever.
Jaebeom can’t help but feel anxious, knowing this must be related to her death.
Looking at his friends, Jaebeom untied the string as the paper unrolled itself - to reveal the most neatest, yet elegant handwriting as he reads the letter out loud.
“Dear my 7 beloved friends,
I know that if you are reading this, I must have passed on and I’ve known because it’s been stated in the book of prophecies. I had destroyed it, and I would like to apologize to Jinyoung for enchanting a spell on him from the day we had a talk in the mirror dimension.
I had to, so that everything would come out with me, having the blood of the gods, as I am demi-god and me having the ability to enchant spells. Now, they say demi-gods are supposed to live longer, but in my case, my body is trapped somewhere hence it couldn’t last long, and this is the consequence.
As you read this out loud, all spells that I casted will vanish and you don’t have to worry, Youngjae. Your favorite flowers are still blooming, I knew you would be sad if it died one day.
Jinyoung, I’ve thinked about the words you said to me and I guessed I realized that I had been selfish… but not heartless. I have always cared for my people since day 1. So, I had written to each one of you as you will be given each a scroll that my will would be split into 7. You will receive on behalf of my inheritance. I had asked Mother and Grandma Kim for their permission and they are lovely to support me.
You will get everything you will need, a room, gold, swords, anything.
Oh, and not forgetting our little Zen. He too will be given a share of my inheritance. He would need it as soon as he turns 20.
Since I am not there, Morian is in need of rulers. The White Queen has to stay in Aerina, since that is her hometown and her own castle while Grandma Kim had vowed to be by the Queen's side.
So in exchange, I need the 7 of you to rule the Morian Kingdom.
I need a helping hand.
Attached to this letter is a letter from King Morian. There is proof, as he, King Morian, stated that his throne would be passed to the 7 of you and you do not need to worry on how or if it is possible if a pack of young wolves could rule a kingdom.
It is possible.
The White Queen, along with Grandma Kim would guide you along, but all the matter will pass in your hands. In the end you will decide what to do with the Kingdom - whether you would like it to be a harmonious kingdom or a kingdom that is only for wolves.
It is all up to the 7 of you. I believe you can do it. Each one of you has your own abilities, your own strengths, so use it.
I just want the 7 of you to live comfortably, happily in your own castle and hometown. I hope one day it will come true, not now as I know everyone would be saddened with my passing.
But as for me, I can’t wait on how both of the kingdoms would progress as years passed.
The night sky will always be dark blue,
Just like how the stars would always be there,
Think of me as a star, I will always watch all of you.
With lots of love and your forever princess,
Riana Aera.”
As Jaebeom was reading the scroll, the 7 of them quickly untied their own individual scroll, to reveal handwritten will and signatures from the Queen, the generals and Aera herself.
“Oh, Aera.” Jinyoung muttered to himself, as in his eyes, the day where he was trapped in the mirror dimension, the scene was running through his eyes, causing him to have teary eyes.
What Aera said was true, she did uncast the spell.
He felt guilty, he felt like he had caused Aera to feel like she was selfish and heartless, when in the first place, she was thinking of everyone she loves.
“..It isn’t your fault, Jinyoung. The princess might have seen this coming.” Jackson, who was beside him, patted his back as he gave his friend a side hug.
“..I would sincerely like to help the princess.” Bambam commented, causing the Queen to turn towards the younger one with a smile.
“Me too! She needs our help!” Yugyeom added.
“..If this is what she wants, we have to.” Youngjae muttered, eyes still locked onto his own scroll.
He couldn’t believe that Aera was a demi-god, which explains her superhuman strengths and abilities that he,himself and the others didn’t have.
Mark on the other hand was trying to recall his moments with Aera, when all of a sudden he remembered her words.
“Are you ready for the day where I would be gone and leave it to your hands to take care of the others and the kingdom of Morian?” Mark whispered to himself, causing the others to turn towards him.
“What?” Jaebeom repeated and Mark’s eyes went downcast.
“..She had hinted to us before. All of us, but it seems we were too positive to think she would never leave.” Mark explained, earning a slow nod from Jinyoung.
“..She gave me a book titled ‘Ways of A Wolf Pack to Rule A Kingdom’. I thought she gave me for more information purposes but she had another intention that I couldn’t figure out.” Jinyoung muttered, as everyone went silent.
They were blind, or it seems Aera had her own ways.
“..I think we shouldn’t think that way. Aera wants us to be happy, so… I think we should try to be happy for her sake.” Jackson commented, sounding a little positive.
Jaebeom’s eyes gazed towards the scroll, his hands slightly gripped onto his own scroll.

‘Aera, listen to me. You have to lay down for now. I’m afraid to tell you that your body is slowly weakening. I see that each part of your body will be paralyzed, as days pass.’
The princess is afraid that she might get attached to her loved ones when she is slowly dying, knowing that both would be heartbroken when the time comes.
“...That’s the last one,”
Aera tightly ties the string onto the scroll, handing it towards Grandma Kim, but this time, she grabbed a hold onto the elderly’s hand - eyes gazing onto the elderly.
“This is specifically for Jaebeom and the others. It’s best if you could give them after I had my last breath here,” said Aera softly, her eyes watching her surroundings although they were in Aera’s study room.
Days passed after the parade, and the ceremony was successful as the citizens took a liking for Jaebeom’s pack - they even liked them more after finding out that they were the ones who saved King Morian’s long lost citizen.
Just like how she predicted that day, Aera didn’t have the availability to spend time with the others, and sadly, she could tell that her friendship with Jaebeom was beginning to drift away - since both of them weren’t on talking terms and the rest found out the true reason.
But they didn’t know who Aera’s heart belonged to, since she didn’t mention any names - except for Youngjae, he knew but he decided to keep it quiet.
“So, I heard words regarding you and the alpha,” Grandma Kim mentioned and Aera quickly groaned, knowing what the elderly was about to say next.
“I’m impressed! You’re the first girl to reject an alpha!”
Aera turned towards the eldery who was chuckling to herself in amusement, with a slight glare.
“Do you want me to write it down in the book of prophecy that I’m the first girl to reject an alpha?” Aera sarcastically offered, seeing Grandma Kim chuckling more. The elderly find this amusing, hearing rumors that the princess rejected the alpha. Grandma Kim had actually seen this coming.
“You knew this was going to happen didn’t you?” Aera questioned towards the elderly, seeing that Grandma Kim slowly went towards her.
“Aera, everything has been written in the book of prophecy. That’s already your destiny,”
“...which includes me dying on a bed..” Aera muttered to herself before sighing loudly.
Grandma Kim and Aera had taken a peek on the book of prophecy early in the morning and it seems the day where she is going to die has already been written.
“The book doesn’t even state which day it is. Isn’t it weird?”
“Well I think it is best if we do not know the exact day. There’s a saying we should live our days as if the next day is our last,” Grandma Kim advised and Aera smiled softly to the elderly words.
She knew she was going to miss the elderly’s sentimental words and teasing ones - but she would dearly miss the White Queen. The Queen is her biological mother after-all.
Grabbing a scroll that was meant for the White Queen, Aera turned towards Grandma Kim.
“Do you know where the White Queen currently is?”
Aera was told that The White Queen was having her walk-abouts with the generals. She was about to call the Queen when she decided to lay herself low - after seeing Jaebeom and the others with the White Queen.
It seems they were having a serious discussion, seeing Bambam and Yugyeom having their eyes downcast while listening to Jinyoung basically talking to the Queen.
I wonder what they are talking about.
Not wanting to disturb them, Aera turned her back.
“Oh! Princess Aera! Good timing for you to be here!”
〖 AERA’S POV 〗
Oh no.
I slowly turned towards them, with me hiding the scroll in my layered dress.
Smiling sheepishly to my own mother who was having the biggest smile on her face, my eyes wavered towards the others who were smiling softly at me - except for Jaebeom who was avoiding my eye contact.
“R-right.. So.. what’s going on?”
“I had a serious discussion with Jaebeom and his pack that I had given them an official job in the royal house,” The Queen said while smiling towards the others.
Judging from the others, it seems they were happy about what the Queen had told them which I can’t help but frown sheepishly.
“What’s the job then?”
“Protector of Morian’s castle!” The White Queen said happily and as soon as I heard her answer, my smile immediately faded.
“....Which means they have to move to Morian?”
“My dear Aera, their hometown is Morian.”
I nodded slowly as my eyes moved towards each one of them, reading their thoughts.
All of them were relieved to go home, it seems they were more comfortable in Morian rather than here - according to Yugyeom.
I know it is selfish of me if I wanted them to stay forever in Aerina’s castle - a place which is different than their hometown.
“So when are the 7 of you going back home?” I asked the 7 of them, as they avoided my eyes - not wanting to answer.
“Tomorrow,” Jaebeom answered simply and I frowned at his words.
How could he say it so easily?
“Pardon me? How could you….” I frowned deeply and there was a soft sigh coming from the Queen, seeing the exchange of words between me and Jaebeom.
“Tomorrow, princess.” said Jinyoung this time, slightly loud and I tilted my head towards my mother - kind of sad that why didn’t they tell me earlier, at the same time I can’t blame them.
“I’ll note that.” I smiled slightly towards Jinyoung, before turning my back towards them - leaving them in taken-aback to see me walking away.
〖 YUGYEOM’S POV 〗
“Did you see the princess’s face?” Bambam whispered towards me as we were leaving our rooms.
“Of course,” I answered softly.
The White Queen had given us official jobs which were being the protector of Morian’s castle, but what the queen didn’t mention to the princess was that we were also the protector of Morian Kingdom.
It’s a tough job but I am happy that we were given a job in the royal castle, which means we could see the princess easily!
But it seems Aera wasn’t too happy of us working in the royal castle.
“But why does she look… unhappy?” asked Bambam as he was frowning.
“..I don’t know.. Maybe she doesn’t want us to leave her all alone in Aerina’s castle…?” I assumed, and Bambam’s expression turned sad, realizing that we had to leave the princess.
Smiling slightly with positiveness, I pat his back as an encouragement. “I’m sure she understands. It’s the only way to protect both kingdoms, Bam.”
Bambam nodded with a smile, and we were about to go down the stairs when a group of maidens were running towards a certain direction. We were about to go down when they suddenly stopped us.
“Sir Bambam! Sir Yugyeom! Here you are! We were looking everywhere for you!” One of the maidens called us, and I looked towards Bambam in confusion.
“Why are you ladies rushing for? Did something happen?” asked Bambam, his voice sounded worried - seeing as they looked rushed.
“It’s Princess Aera! She fainted in the middle of horse-riding!”
My eyes went wide after hearing the servant’s response, turning towards Bambam who looked taken-aback.
“Take us to her!” With my answer, Bambam and I, along with the maidens guided us to where Aera was.
〖 BAMBAM’S POV 〗
As soon as Yugyeom and I arrived at the hallway where Aera’s room was located, there were already some figures walking out of her room, with deep frowns on their face.
Somehow, I grew anxious since the deep frowns were coming from Jackson and Jinyoung, but what got me having cold sweats were seeing the pale expression from Jackson himself.
I didn’t even realise that Yugyeom and I were just a few steps away from the both of them.
“What happened to the princess?!” Yugyeom was the first one to question both of the older ones, as they looked from me to Yugyeom.
“..I don’t know what to say..” Jinyoung muttered to himself, as he turned towards Jackson, wanting him to say whatever was going on.
“I don’t even know what the heck is going on till Grandma Kim said the princess has fallen ill and what’s worse is that there were no cures to treat it!” Jackson rambled in anger and annoyance.
I gulped while turning towards Yugyeom, whose eyes were widened twice after hearing Jackson’s words.
“Where are the others? Do they know about this?” I asked, thinking that the others must be informed about this - even if one doesn’t want to know, they had to know.
Aera is our childhood friend, and a future crowned princess to my kingdom and Aerina’s kingdom.
“Youngjae is currently in the garden, finding plants to cure Aera while Mark is searching for Jaebeom in Morian, to let the alpha know as soon as possible regarding this.” Jinyoung informed us and I let out a sigh.
“Can we—
Before I could even ask, Yugyeom already knocked on the door before pushing the door open to see Grandma Kim and the Queen on both sides of the princess’s side.
My eyes fell towards a pale body on the bed, and my eyes immediately went foggy with tears.
“Grandma!? What’s going on? What’s happening?” Yugyeom was already running to his grandma’s side, not caring to bow to the older ones as his eyes attached to the princess, who looked peacefully sleeping.
“My dear, I need you to calm down—
“How can I calm down, Grandma?! The princess doesn’t look well!” Yugyeom yelled slightly, his voice sounded shaky.
As his best friend, my hands already reached for his shoulder - gesturing him to calm down before the presence of the Queen and his own grandmother.
Looking towards Grandma Kim then towards the Queen, I can’t help but frown a little.
Why do they look calm?
“What’s going on, your majesty? Why does the princess look so pale?”
“Aera has never been this pale in our years we have spent with her. Is there something wrong with her, Grandma Kim!?”
More voices were heard in Aera’s head, and to her, the voices sounded annoyed and concerned. Her head began spinning and she could feel herself frowning to the pain she felt.
Couldn’t bear the feeling, Aera’s eyes started to flicker open, her vision starting to focus - then to see a few figures on both of her sides.
Aera slightly groaned as she moved, seeing all heads snapping towards her.
The first person she saw was Jackson, as she then sees Jinyoung, Bambam and Yugyeom with the White Queen and Grandma Kim.
“Princess!” Jackson came rushing towards Aera’s side, sitting on her bed while reaching out for her pale hands. Aera smiled softly, seeing how worried Jackson was. She could only grip onto his hand slightly, feeling her energy getting weaker.
“I’m not dead yet, you know.”
“Don’t say that!” answered Yugyeom a little loudly, making Aera turn towards the taller one. His eyes were watery while his nose was red, indicating that he may have cried.
〖 AERA’S POV 〗
I knew what had happened before I passed out.
I was, as usual, horse-riding and one moment, I felt the same throbbing pain on my chest, the same feeling I felt in Morian - and that’s when I fell into darkness.
This time, I felt twice as painful as before.
“What’s going to happen to me now?” I asked, turning towards Grandma Kim, who was somehow staring at me.
The elderly turned towards the Queen, as she gave a nod towards the elder one.
“You will need to rest more, your highness. Which means bare minimum of movement.”
“What!?” I yelled while frowning.
There was no way I would be staying in bed for almost every time.
I still have so much to do, so much to write on the scrolls for the future - knowing I would be gone anytime.
I can’t be sitting still.
“But—
‘Aera, listen to me. You have to lay down for now. I’m afraid to tell you that your body is slowly weakening. I see that each part of your body will be paralyzed, as days pass.’
My eyes slowly widen, hearing Grandma Kim’s voice of thoughts while trying to move my legs, which unfortunately, and to my horror, I can’t even move my legs.
My eyes started to get watery in fear, turning towards the Queen as her eyes were already clouded with tears.
‘I can’t move my legs! Don’t do this to me! I have so much to do, Grandma! Help me!’ My thought of voice came out as a scream, without knowing that I let out a whimper, which caused the others to be taken-aback.
Only Grandma Kim, and my mother could hear my honest thoughts, as they could look at me with the saddest eyes I have ever seen.
This is it.
“Aera, princess. Look at me, hey.” Jackson called me out, making me break eye contact with my mother. His hands were cupping both of my cheeks, forcing me to directly look at me.
“You can get through this. We will take care of you, we will stay here until you are better, right guys?” Jackson pleaded to me, turning towards the others who were nodding, supporting Jackson’s answer.
Chuckling while sobbing, I shake my head slowly while holding onto his hands, staring into his eyes that had so much hope.
Not knowing that I was staring at him, my eyes filled with hope that wasn’t even real. Jackson and the others were trying hard to read me, since I had blocked others to read me deep - and I was too into gazing towards Jackson, that the door busted open.
To reveal Mark and Jaebeom, they looked like in a rush as they were breathing rather heavily.
My eyes somehow met with Jaebeom, his eyes went wide and for a second, I could see his eyes went teary but he immediately hid it with him clenching his jaw, seeing what Jackson is doing.
“Aera!” Mark called me, his voice filled with worry while running towards me.
Instead of him, Jaebeom exited the room and I could already feel his jealousy even when he was just outside.
“I’ll talk to him and—
“No. You don’t have to, Jackson. Leave him be. He’ll come around,” My hands are already grabbing for Jackson as he was about to leave.
‘Stay, Jackson. Stay with me, please.’
Jackson’s head snapped towards me, his eyes widened slowly as he heard my voice of thoughts - which sounded desperate and rushed.
Cursing to myself, I had just accidentally let out my honest thoughts in vulnerable moments.
I really need to work out on that, or I would be in trouble.
“Okay, lovebirds. Do in mind that we are in the same room, and Mark just got here! Give him some love!” Bambam broke my thoughts, complaining about me and Jackson - as I turned towards Mark who was slightly pouting towards me, causing myself to giggle.
‘I don’t have much time with them and I’m already worried that I might get attached to them, just like how they are attached to me,’

“The book of prediction, a book where a future could be seen, one would be in affliction, hence his future would be unforeseen,”
“It was the day where Princess Aera decided to do something that anyone would ever think of. To her, it was a way where she wouldn’t need to explain the truth, which was destroying the book of prophecy - which no one had thought or done before.”
Aera smirked to herself, with a book on her lap as her fingers were moving while enchanting words.
A different book - no, not the book of prophecies.
This time, it is a book where Youngjae, Bambam and Yugyeom were obsessed with when they were kids.
It is a book of incantations, where different types of spells are being listed in the book for people who want to learn magic.
The book was given by Grandma Kim, for Aera to learn since she will be stuck in bed. As she was flipping the pages, her fingers slowly stopped moving as her eyes moved from left to right at a fast speed.
〖 AERA’S POV 〗
‘Destroying the book of prophecy,’
I didn’t know that I was frowning while I was reading.
The book of prediction,
A book where a future could be seen,
One would be in affliction,
Hence his future would be unforeseen,
“The book of prediction, a book where a future could be seen, one would be in affliction, hence his future would be unforeseen,” I repeated to myself, the words sticking onto my head.
According to the book, the ones who would want to destroy the book of prophecies would not foresee their future here.
But what happens when I am not.... fully from here?
To think about it, I believe in destiny, fate they say.
And the more I think about it, the book of prophecies is toxic - we shouldn’t be looking at a book, to see our future, on what’s going to happen.
In my words, it’s boring and as Grandma Kim says, we should live our lives as useful as possible as if tomorrow will be our last day.
I’m being ridiculous but I just wanted everyone to live happily in this wonderland.
Pointing my fingers towards my paralyzed leg, I enchanted a spell I just learned about hours ago where I could move, but it has a time limit.
Once I could stand up properly and move a step just in case, I quickly grabbed a random cloak - heading towards a room where no one would go in these dark hours.
〖 JINYOUNG’S POV 〗
“Wow Youngjae. That’s a lot of books there,”
“Of course! I’m almost finishing on making a cure for the princess,”
Smiling at Youngjae's words, I continued to stack the books into the correct shelves.
This has been my routine ever since the others and I are going to stay in Aerina’s castle to keep an eye on the princess, except for Mark, Jackson and Jaebeom.
They had to rotate themselves on guarding Morian’s castle - Jaebeom was the one who initiated to take over whenever Mark and Jackson had to stay, knowing that they wanted to see the princess.
Jaebeom on the other hand would try ways to avoid seeing the princess.
It seems that he is still heartbroken on the princess rejecting him.
“I’m curious but… do you think the princess would marry Jackson?”
I can’t help but slowly turn towards Youngjae after hearing his out-of-nowhere question, who was casually flipping pages of a book of healing.
“Youngjae, they aren’t even together yet.” I answered straightforwardly, hearing a sheepish chuckle from him as he shrugs in embarrassment.
“..Well, I was just curious.. To think that I had a slight crush of the princess when we were just kids…” Youngjae muttered to himself as he sighed, it was my turn to laugh at his honest confession.
“I think all of us had once had a crush on her… but you know Jaebeom came and told us about his own confession, we had no choice but to let go of that feelings towards her,” I answered, not feeling embarrassed at all since I indirectly confessed too.
I could already feel Youngjae’s eyes onto me, avoiding his squinted-curious looks.
“Okay...I found a temporary cure for the princess. Do you want to tag along?” Youngjae stood up, as he already had his sling bag onto him and him carrying his usual curing books.
“Sure. I have some books to give to the princess for her to read in case she goes bored.” I said while carrying the books I wanted Aera to read.
The both of us made our way to the hallway of where the princess’s room was located. We knew there was no one going to be out in these dark hours since it was past midnight.
As I was about to turn to the corner, my nose filled with a strange scent, in reflex of me grabbing Youngjae’s hand while slamming him onto the wall - at the same time trying to keep him quiet.
Youngjae had a confused look on his face as I was trying to have a glimpse, and I was right.
There was a figure going in the opposite direction of us.
But my eyes caught where the figure came out from.
The princess’s room.
〖 YOUNGJAE’S POV 〗
“Are you sure, Jinyoung? You must be seeing things!”
“...Out of the 7 of us, I am the attentive one here.”
Jinyoung dead-panned as we were hiding behind the wall, at the same time I was looking at where Jinyoung was eyeing to - and what he said was right.
A figure was walking towards a certain direction, without looking back - and what’s more mysterious is that the figure was wearing a full robe, its hood covering the head which Jinyoung and I couldn’t see the figure’s face from far.
“The princess, Jinyoung!” I hurried to Jinyoung, afraid the princess might have gotten hurt, seeing how suspicious the figure was.
I can feel my heart beating twice in anxiety.
We knew Aera could protect herself, but the princess is sick and weak.
There’s no way she could be as strong as previous.
Jinyoung didn’t hesitate to bust the door open and I immediately stood beside him, glancing around the room.
“Huh?” The princess was nowhere to be found.
“Oh my god.” I heard Jinyoung mutter to himself, and I can’t help but gulped the lump on my throat.
I decided to step forward, going towards her bed since her bed looks messy and it looked like she got out of bed.
‘I’ll track her scent,’ Jinyoung said in his thought of voice as he shifted to his wolf form. He already started sniffing around for Aera’s scent.
On the other hand, I put my hand on the princess’s queen size mattress - which surprisingly felt a little warm, which meant she somehow just left.
“She just left…” My words trailed off as soon as I pulled the bed sheet, seeing an open book on the bed.
It looked like it was intended to be left there, not intentionally.
I know I’m not supposed to meddle with whatever the princess is doing, but I was curious about what the book was about.
With my surprise, that caused me to took a few steps back after closing the book, I get to see the title of the book.
“Book of Incantations,” I repeated, gulping slightly.
Oh, I wonder how I reacted when I was just a kid when I saw this book.
When I was a kid, I was obsessed with magic - hence the princess and I would always sneak into the library to find the book that was right just in front of me. But somehow, at that time, the book was nowhere to be found.
Which was strangely weird on how the princess could get the book now and it was even more weird on why she has the book.
Frowning slightly, I shake my head slightly.
There was no way the princess would do such a thing.
‘Youngjae! I found her scent!’ Jinyoung called out, seeing his tail basically out of the door as I quickly followed him behind.
“This is it,” Aera muttered to herself, as she entered a room - where the book of prophecies are being placed.
It was guarded with guards in the morning but as the sun started to set and as darkness started to appear, Grandma Kim would put a barrier spell where no one would be able to enter.
But to Aera’s amazement and thanks to the spells she memorized, here Aera is, stepping foot into the room as she managed to break the barrier.
As soon as she stepped in, the atmosphere was different from the outside.
Her arms grew extremely cold though she was wearing a thick robe.
Aera’s eyes fell towards a floating book right in the middle of the room, the only book that was shining by an unknown light.
Sighing softly, Aera slowly walked towards where the book is, looking at it, thinking if she should destroy it.
There were so many reasons why she wanted to destroy it, the main reason is she didn’t want others to know about her real identity. She knew it would cause trouble in the future.
‘It’s the only way,’
Her fingers started to touch the book.
Closing her eyes, Aera started to enchant the spell she saw in the book and slowly, red bright lights started to emerge from the book and at the same time, she could feel her energy draining.
She could hear herself groaning due to the ache she felt slowly from her legs, and she was about to release more power when she heard loud footsteps coming from the hallway in about a few steps away.
But she still continues on releasing more energy towards the book, in order to destroy it completely.
“Aera! Stop!”
〖 AERA’S POV 〗
My head snapped towards the threatening voice, to see Jinyoung who was in his wolf form, Youngjae in his human form basically running towards me and one of my hands waved towards the air - changing the sight of the whole surrounding.
Jinyoung had changed into a human form, not in his permission, causing him to be frowning deeply - knowing he is confused and pissed.
“What’s going on?! Where are we— Aera, what have you done?” Jinyoung questioned me, his face went pale, seeing that he is surrounded with some kind of a glass area.
“I know. Magic, you’re not one to believe in fairytales, Jinyoung. It’s called a mirror dimension and don't worry. The real word isn’t affected by it, and no one knows about this so… it’s just us.” I explained calmly, still Jinyoung was frowning at me.
Youngjae on the other hand was reading the situation, as he widened his eyes - I already read him as he had already figured out.
“You’re trying to destroy the book of prophecies!” Youngjae pointed and Aera sighed loudly.
“I was halfway on doing it but the two of you invaded in,”
“Look who's talking! You’re not supposed to be here!” Jinyoung dead-panned, walking closely towards the book - reading the book’s condition just by looking at it.
Jinyoung slowly turned towards me, his eyes squinted as if he was trying to read me.
Usually, I would look away but this time, I didn’t.
It’s as if I wanted him to know, to figure it out by himself since there were only the 3 of us here - and I knew at the end I would temporarily use a spell on him and Youngjae to erase their memories.
‘You can do magic…? Since when? Have you been doing this behind Jaebeom and our backs?’ Questions to questions from Jinyoung in his voice of thoughts.
His eyes were roaming around my face.
“This isn’t who you are.” He muttered and I let out a smile, a sad one.
His words felt like a stab in my heart.
I know Jinyoung is my best friend but still, his words hurt - as if I am a stranger to him.
“You’re wrong. This is who I’ve always been. It’s just you didn’t know the whole truth of who I am,” I answered rather calmly, not trying to sound hurt at all.
Jinyoung had a deeper frown, hearing my response.
I can tell he is very confused, hurt, at the same time and to my disappointment, terrified.
“You know if I had bad intentions, I would have done it sooner. I’m disappointed that you, at this moment, are terrified of me. You know I don’t hurt—
“—then why all this? All the secrecy? Is there something you are afraid to tell us, princess?” Jinyoung cuts me off, his piercing eyes that locked to me caused me to look away, gazing towards the book.
I can’t tell you, Jinyoung. I can’t just say that I have the blood of the gods and I am dying in a few days time.
In instance, Jinyoung’s eyes widened twice as before, followed by a slight gasp from Youngjae - and from my vision, I could see Jinyoung trying to run away, but I was fast enough to cast a barrier in this dimension.
His body fell backwards, hitting himself on the glass wall.
“Let me go! I have to tell the others!” Jinyoung yelled slightly and I shook my head, disagreeing to his words.
“So this is what you are hiding from us, Aera!? I can’t believe you!” Jinyoung’s voice echoed through the mirror dimension, as he was yelling in frustration and tears were welling in his eyes.
“I had no choice. It’s the only way.” I answered calmly, and it seems I made him more annoyed, hearing how calm I am.
“No choice?! Aera. Are you listening to yourself!? You could have told us!” He argued.
“And let all of you suffer? I’m not that heartless, Jinyoung.”
“But you are currently being heartless and selfish.”
My eyes widened in astonishment to his out of no where insult.
“Jinyoung, that’s too much. Aera is our best friend but still, you are currently speaking to the crown princess of Aerina and Morina’s Kingdom.” Youngjae commented at the side, his eyes frowning towards Jinyoung.
Jinyoung’s jaw clenched in annoyance, at the same time I could feel that he was trying to calm himself down.
Gulping down the lump of throat, I tried to let out words but my mouth let out a sob, followed by tears welling down my cheeks. I couldn’t manage to look Jinyoung in the eye.
Though my eyes were downcast, I could feel him walking towards me.
Jinyoung stood in front of me.
“Princess, I’m….”
Looking him in the eye, my hands that were travelling onto his face made his words trailed off as I cupped his right cheeks - causing Jinyoung to look at me in confusion.
“I’m sorry Jinyoung. I’m really sorry. Someday, you will understand.”
With that, as one of my index fingers touches the side of his head, Jinyoung’s eyes widened before shutting down and his body literally floats in the air - going out of the mirror dimension.
“Where is he going?” Youngjae questioned and I smiled softly towards him.
“Back to his room, of course.” I answered while walking towards him.
Youngjae’s eyes widened, kind of knowing what I was going to do.
“I would prefer that if you could not erase this moment, Aera. Please.” Youngjae begged.
“I can’t risk the others to know, Youngjae.”
“All this while, I didn’t even tell them about you using magic in the garden, Aera. Now, I’m the one that is disappointed in you for not trusting me well enough,” Youngjae argued, and I sighed tiringly before looking him in the eye.
“Fine. But I’ll have to black you out, so that others won’t see or smell that your body had a weird scent.” I informed him and Youngjae nodded with understanding.
With a smile, I was about to cup his head when Youngjae’s hand held onto mine.
“But before that, is it true.. that you will die?” Youngjae questioned quietly and I nodded in reply. Youngjae had a look where he wanted to ask so many unanswered questions.
‘I know that one day, you would give us answers. I trust you,’
I could hear his thoughts, nodding with a smile as I proceeded with cupping his head, before my index finger touched the sides of his head.
Both of us fell into darkness, and I didn’t know that the day would come sooner than I expected.
Different voices were heard in Aera’s mind, as she couldn’t help but groan in annoyance on how loud and high pitch the voices were.
It was as if their voices were talking near her face.
Seeing a ball of light shining through her sight, Aera’s eyes out of nowhere open at once - causing multiple gasps coming from people.
〖 AERA’S POV 〗
Where am I ?
My vision started to focus, and at the same time, my body feels really wet, as if I was splashed with water through my whole body.
And then I realized.
I’m back to where I came from, seeing familiar faces of people, which are the villagers. One of them was shoving others away, a face that I could recognize came and pulled me into her embrace.
“Oh my god! Aera!”
It was my mother, hugging me tightly in her arms and I could literally feel her body shaking. She proceeded to cup my cheeks, checking all inches of my face in a hurry.
“I’m okay, mother.”
“Okay!? What were you thinking, Aera?! You jumped into a river!”
‘A river?’
“Right…” I muttered, and villagers started to wrap me with multiple blankets, as they helped me get up, thinking that I was weak and hurt but in fact, I wasn’t even harmed.
A river.. I’m sure that I fell into a hidden water canyon here.
“C’mon. Let’s get you home.” My mother had me by her side, helping me to walk as I mindlessly followed her, still thinking what had happened.
The lady watches her daughter, staring towards the window.
It’s been a few days after the incident where she was being called by villagers that they found her daughter right by the river. The same day where her daughter told her that she would be going into the forest.
She must have entered the other world.
“Aera.” The lady called her, putting a warm cup of tea infront of her.
Aera was given a week of medical leave from work, and her routine for every morning would be sitting by the window, staring outside mindlessly.
She had never done this before.
There were soft sniffles coming from Aera, as she looked at the other side while wiping her cheeks.
“Aera.. My love, are you okay?” Her mother questioned softly, as Aera turned towards the lady with a small smile, a sad one.
“I’m fine. Just dusts in my eyes.” Aera muttered as she wiped the corner of her eyes. Her mother chuckled, knowing her really well that she isn’t allergic to any dust - knowing she is lying.
As Aera was sipping onto her drink, something caught the eyes of her mother.
“What a lovely necklace, Aera. Which gentleman gave that to you?”
Aera’s brow raised slightly, as her eyes immediately went downcast, seeing a necklace. Staring at it, Aera’s eyes automatically widened twice.
‘It wasn’t a dream or a memory! It is real!’
She began to touch it, and she felt how hard it is, how real it is - and Aera can’t help but tighten her grip onto the necklace.
‘Someone that I didn’t have the chance to say that I love him.’
Months later in Wonderland
“So.. the villagers on the west side want to make.. a statue of Aera?”
“Yes, your majesty.”
The Queen nodded slowly, handing a written scroll to one of the finance generals.
A few months had passed, and things changed in Aerina’s Kingdom, ever since the passing of the princess. Though everyone had move on, the Queen know there were still a group people that were still in denial - especially the citizens of Aerina.
There were ridiculous rumors here and there, but only the royal family knew the truth - hence the Queen had to do a public gathering right in front of the castle, explaining the truth to them and here she is, sitting on her throne, facing the generals regarding her own people’s request.
Which was making a large size statue of the late princess, in the middle of the kingdom, to worship her since Aera is a goddess.
“Should we notify the other kingdoms regarding the making of statues?”
“Yes please. Please inform the royal family of Morian first, followed by the other kingdoms.”
The Queen dismissed the generals and once they were gone, the White Queen sighed in exhaustion as she dealt with the kingdom’s situation. Now she finally realizes how hardworking and strong-willed Aera is on how she settled problems of her own people.
She dearly missed her daughter, but she knew is doing fine in the other world - so the Queen thought to herself that she might return one day, when they really needed her.
“A statue? For?”
“The citizens of Aerina believed that they should pray to the late princess for all the things she had done for them.” Morian’s general stated, as he was then being dismissed by Jaebeom after the general explains the situation.
Jaebeom sighed as he turned to look at the others who were just reading the scrolls that were given by the White Queen - it was a different request from the citizens, and adding on, the White Queen requested Morian to have the life size statues to be built in Morian too.
“..It’s the Queen’s request, so..” Youngjae answered, while looking at the others who were nodding their heads.
“..It’s been 9 months. I think it’s time for us to accept the fact that she is gone. It’s up to us now.” Mark commented, seeing all of his friends avoided each other’s eyes - knowing perfectly what they were thinking.
Some of them were still holding onto that hope, everyday.
Jinyoung took the scrolls. “I’ll discuss more with the head of the village and town.” said Jinyoung, before exiting the meeting room, not even looking back.
“Bambam and I will tag along!” Yugyeom called out, pulling Bambam along with him as they ran out of the room.
“I’ll deal with the financial issue regarding the decorations.” Youngjae offered, as he took the specific scroll regarding finance.
“I’ll talk to the White Queen about our plans,” informs Jaebeom, as he was already grabbing the papers, preparing to exit the room.
One by one, the others started to disperse, following the plan as they each have their own task to do.
It was as if they were trying to avoid the topic of the princess.
Now it’s just left Jackson and Mark.
“Do you miss her?” Jackson questioned Mark softly, as the older one was wrapping things up while folding the papers back.
Mark looked at you with a smile as you play with your hair. The moonlight shining on you making you glow, making you even more beautiful at his eyes. He sat next to you and you tilted your head to the side, your hair falling perfectly down your back.
“You are beautiful, you know that?” He whispered, brushing his thumb against your bottom lip.
You smiled and intertwined your fingers with his.
It felt like paradise, even though you couldn’t forget about JB for a second.
“What’s on your mind?” Mark asked.
You shrugged. “I wonder where JB and the others are right now.”
Mark nodded a bit and looked down at your hands fitting perfectly with his.
“You like him, don’t you?”
“I like all of you. I never thought I could feel something like this but in a week a lot of things changed. But he says I am his mate, I shouldn’t be doing this behind his back.” You whispered, your eyes glistening with tears.
Mark sighed and pulled you closer. You wrapped your arms around his waist, automatically hiding your face against his neck.
“But I like you.” You finally whispered against his skin.
Mark pulled away and cupped your face. “I don’t like you…”
You frowned. “So what was that in the kitchen a few hours ago?”
Mark chuckled and pressed his lips against yours. You closed your eyes right away, as if you were expecting it all along.
“I don’t like you.” He repeated. “I think I love you.”
You looked at him with wide eyes. “What did you say?”
Mark smiled and leaned closer to your face. “I love you.” He said again. “I love you, I love you, I love you.”
Your smile slowly became bigger and bigger and you playfully bite his cheek.
“Say it again.”
Mark laughed and rubbed his cheek. “Woow, seems like we have a little wolf here.” He pulled you to his lap and squeezed your hips gently.
“I.LOVE.YOU.” He whispered between kisses.
Suddenly the front door opened and Bambam stopped looking at both of you before waving.
You waved back and the young wolf went to the kitchen.
You looked at Mark with an eyebrow raised.
Then, all of a sudden, Bambam came to the room again with his mouth wide open. “WHAT ARE YOU GUYS DOING? TOGETHER? MARK HYUNG, ________ IS JB’S MATE, OH MY GOD, WHAT HAPPENED?”
The poor creature seemed so lost and confused. Mark grabbed Bambam’s shoulder and pulled him to his room. You sighed and rested your head against the window. Troubles.
Bambam sat on the bed with his arms crossed.
“I’m waiting.” He said.
Mark rubbed the back of his neck and sat beside Bambam, his head facing the floor.
“I love her Bambam.” Mark whispered, smiling to himself as he remembers how you and him kissed each other passionately in the kitchen, how his fingers rubbed against your skin, how you caressed his soft hair.
Bambam raised an eyebrow and slapped Mark’s nape.
The older boy winced and looked at the young brat with a frown. “What the hell was that?”
“Are you out of your mind? No Mark, really, tell me, are you crazy? Are you drunk? You are signing your death sentence with this, like, literally.”
Mark couldn’t agree more. He was literally signing his death sentence. However, he couldn’t be away from you! Not now that he knows exactly what you are to him.
Bambam started to pace back and forth in the room with his hands on his hips.
“What are you doing here anyways? You were supposed to be with the others.” Mark said trying to avoid the topic.
“JB sent me home, let’s just say that Rap Monster and the rest of BTS appeared and guess what, they know about ________.”
Mark froze. “He what?”
Bambam nodded and sighed, resting his back against the wall. “It’s just a matter of time until the alpha finds about it too. A war it’s starting and I don’t want to be part of it, I’m not ready.”
Mark gave small steps towards Bambam and shook his head in disbelief.
“What are you trying to say?”
“It’s a freaking war, or us, or ________. You choose. As much as I like her, I prefer to live.”
Mark grabbed Bambam by the collar and pushed you harder against the wall.
“We are not going to leave her behind.” Mark growled.
Bambam kicked Mark in the stomach and the older wolf winced in pain. In no time, both of them were in their wolf form, fighting in the room.
You heard loud noises coming from the room and didn’t hesitate to see what it was.
When you opened the door, you screamed, when you saw the two of them almost killing one another.
“Guys stop.” You yelled, tears running down your cheeks.
Of course they didn’t hear you.
“Mark, Bambam, it’s enough.” You yelled.
You were desperate. You needed to stop them or else they would die in there.
You ran to them and stood between both of them, your hands covering your ears.
When they saw you, they stopped. You slowly looked around and the big white wolf bowed his head. It was Mark. You sighed and rubbed his fur.
“Good boy.” You whispered with a sad smile.
Even though Mark was acting calm, Bambam was looking at both of you with anger written all over his red eyes.
When you turned your attention to him, Mark tried to warn you about how violent Bambam becomes once he turns into a wolf, but you didn’t heard or saw him, you just moved your hand to touch Bambam’s dark fur and the young and still immature wolf jumped towards you.
Mark immediately returned to his human form and yelled your name, but it was too late.
Bambam threw you against a wall and you fell on the floor unconscious.
“____________, NO!” Mark yelled.
Bambam looked at you in horror and fell on the ground, already on his human form.
“What have you done? I will kill you.” Mark yelled, hugging you closer.
“I-I don’t know what happened.” Bambam shuttered.
“SHE IS MY MATE, SHE IS MY FREAKING MATE, I’M IN LOVE WITH HER, I CAN’T LOSE HER! NO ________, YOU CAN’T DIE.” Mark yelled, between sobs.
Bambam stood there looking at both of us. You were Mark’s mate? What about JB?
Both of them heard footsteps and when they looked up, all the other GOT7 members were there, along with BTS and also the Alpha Pack.
Bambam froze. JB looked at Mark and became stiff. You were in his arms, your nose bleeding.
The six wolves walked beside each other and no words were spoken. JB was in the front, hands on his pockets while the other five were following him.
“Why did you left her alone with another man?” Bambam finally asked.
JB stopped and looked at the younger boy with an eyebrow raised. “I have my reasons.”
“I would love to hear them.” Jackson muttered, crossing his arms.
As all of them arrived at the main place, GOT7 stood in the middle of the field.
“I hope they don’t arrive late, I’m starting to feel grumpy.” Yugyeom said bluntly.
“You are always grumpy.” Junior said with a smirk.
The other members couldn’t help but laugh.
JB sighed and rubbed his temples. The moon was becoming bigger, there’s nothing he could do about that. Thank God he was in the middle of the forest or else he would go crazy already , he would make a move on you and then regret it by the morning so he was pretty thankful that you were safe with Mark. Unlike him, Mark has been a wolf for a long time and already knows how to control himself around a human in full moon nights like this one.
All of a sudden the six boys heard loud voices and turned their backs to see nothing but fog.
Jackson leaned his back against a tree and smirked. “They are coming.” He said in a singing tone of voice.
All of them started to walk slowly until they met other wolves. Like GOT7, they were seven and good looking. Their name was Bangtan Boys but they are well known among the other packs as BTS! JB smirked when eyed a blonde boy with cute dimples.
“Ayo, my bro.” Rap Monster patted JB’s shoulder and winked at the other boys that just nodded in return.
“How’s life man?” JB asked, crossing his arms.
“Normal. I’m always here and there, having a little fun with female wolves, if you know what I mean.” BTS laughed and high-fived each other.
GOT7, on the other hand, were still like a statue. They are not really close with other packs, they just like to do their own things without staying committed with others.
“Now bro, let’s talk about the real shit. I mean, you know I know everything. If I don’t see, other people make sure to tell me.” He jabbed his thumb towards Jungkook who just smirked.
Rap Monster continued, “So I heard someone already found its mate?”
JB became stiff. Rap Monster’s tone wasn’t playful anymore, he was serious, and JB never saw him like that.
“We are very happy for you, but….” J-Hope started but Jackson was fast enough to stop him.
“Shut up. This conversation is between the leaders of each pack so go back to the back and keep your mouth shut, will you?”
J-Hope snarled and Jackson moved closer to the other wolf, gripping his collar. "Enough." JB and Rap Monster said at the same time.
Both of them pulled away and J-Hope fixed his shirt. "I'm going to kill you." J-Hope said with gritted teeth.
Jackson smirked and licked his lips. "I'll be waiting."
"I said enough Jackson, please." JB whispered in Jackson's ear who just nodded in return.
"You broke the rules." Rap Monster said, laughing bitterly. "You brought the girl against her will." GOT7 looked down.
Rap Monster sighed and rubbed his temples. "You revealed your true form, she knows you are a wolf and damn, you didn't even bothered to hide it. You know what it's going to happen if the alpha knows about this."
GOT7 looked up and JR walked to the front. "You are not planning on telling him, right?"
Jin moved to the front also and raised an eyebrow. "Shut up. This conversation is between the leaders of each pack so go back to the back and keep your mouth shut, will you?" The boy smirked tilting his head to the side and looking at Jackson.
JB gently pulled JR to the back and looked at Rap Monster.
"He doesn't has to know."
"Oh well, he doesn't but if I already know, it's just a matter of time until the Alpha hears about it too." Rap Monster said. "You had a carefree attitude, you were immature, what did you expect?"
JB was holding back the tears that were forming in his eyes. The wolf bit his bottom lip and looked away, cleaning the tears with his sleeves. GOT7 looked at his leader with sympathetic eyes. Even Bangtan Boys were quiet with his eyes facing the ground.
"You know what happens when the Alpha finds a human between wolves, right?"
JB nodded and Rap Monster approached him. The wolf rubbed the other's shoulder and gave him a sincere smile.
"You just need to protect her, don't let other wolves see her, keep her close, you are her official mate, they can't take her away from you, at least you know that."
JB shook his head and looked down. "She is not my official mate yet."
The silence that came next was so uncomfortable. GOT7 nodded their heads and JB smiled sadly. "I won't force her to do that, she is still very young." He said softly.
Rap Monster nodded, but deep down he doesn't know what JB is feeling, he have been searching for his mate since forever, and he can't imagine how hard this was being to GOT7's leader.
A howl was heard and all the boys looked up to the sky. The moon was standing high, rounded and proud in the sky.
"Let's go, the Alpha is waiting for us. Just act naturally, run around for a bit to get your wolf scent back. I kinda feel her perfume on you." Rap Monster squeezed JB's shoulder and joined his pack, that turned into seven big wolves and ran to the deepest places of the forest.
GOT7 stood there, still shocked by the whole conversation.
"I just don't understand..." Yugyeom whispered.
JB sighed and smiled. "Forget it, we will be fine."
"Yes, we will, what about _______.?" Youngjae asked.
"Mark is with her, he will protect her, i'm sure he won't let anyone touch her." JB said.
"Why do you trust him so much? Whenever I try to get near her you almost eat me alive." Bambam said.
JB wrapped an arm around Bambam's shoulder and laughed a bit. "Because I know she's important to him too." He whispered.
________________________________
You opened your eyes and smiled a bit when you felt warm and safe. You remember falling asleep next to Mark but he wasn't there anymore. You rubbed your eyes and looked around the room. Everything was clean and a fresh smell hung in the air. Mark cleaned the house while you were sleeping?
You opened the window and smiled when the wind played with your hair. You felt someone beside you and you turned your head to the side. Mark was looking at the moon with a smile, his hand on top of yours.
"It's beautiful." You whispered.
"Indeed, it's beautiful." You looked at him but he wasn't looking at the moon, he was looking straight at you.
You blushed and bit your bottom lip.
"How are you feeling?" You asked with a sincere smile.
"I'm holding on." Mark chuckled.
"Must be hard being near a human in a full moon night, I'm sorry."
Mark shook his head and rubbed the back of his neck.
"JB trusts me for a reason: I have control. Even if I'm dying to touch you and do sinful things with you, I can keep my cool and protect you."
You nodded but blushed right away when you heard the "sinful things" part.
"Look, I'm going to make something for us to eat, ok?" You asked rubbing his shoulder.
Mark nodded and you went to the kitchen. You were still not very familiar with the whole place so it took you a little to find the plates and forks.
"Hmm, I'll make pasta." You said clapping your hands.
Mark sighed and placed his hand against his heart that was beating like crazy. Feels like he can't breath whenever he is close to you.
"C'mon Mark, keep your cool." He mumbled to himself, walking back and forth in the room. His blood was bubbling inside his body and his eyes were turning red. Normally this scene doesn't happen, but you are there, and he wants you.
When you were cooking, you felt two strong arms around your waist and you blushed before turning around.
You yelled, you didn't want to, but you did. His face was dangerously closer, his eyes were red like blood and the way he was looking at you was in a word scary.
"M-Mark..." You whispered, giving small steps back until your back hit the kitchen counter.
"Don't be afraid, I won't hurt you." Mark said, licking his lips.
And JB said Mark was good at controlling himself uh?
"Stay away from me, please." You whispered, holding a small knife in your hand.
"You don't want to do it, put the knife down ______."
Mark gently held your hand and placed the knife on the counter again, before picking you up in his arms. You wrapped your legs around his waist and Mark caressed your thighs with his fingertips. You looked down at him, your eyes looking straight into his eyes.
Mark gently sat you on the kitchen counter and parted your legs a bit to stay between them.
Before you could even protest, the young wolf cupped your cheeks and pressed his lips against yours. At first you didn't kiss back, but when Mark squeezed your bum gently, you parted your lips and he slided his tongue inside your mouth. You closed your eyes and kissed him back, your tongue brushing against his as your hands made their way to his redish hair.
Why does it feels so good?
Mark smiled against your lips and pulled away a bit just to leave kisses down your neck and your shoulders.
You threw your head back when his "vampire like" teeth grazed your sensitive milky skin.
"You are so beautiful." Mark whispered, resting his forehead against yours, before kissing you again, this time just moving his lips against yours, no tongue nor teeth, just a pure lovely kiss.
When he pulled away you looked down at his hands inside your shirt and you gently pushed them away.
"What have we done?" You whispered, biting your lip.
Mark ran his fingers through his hair and shook his head. "I guess I still need to test my control."
You smiled. "Hey, look at me." You placed a finger under his chin. "I liked it. I never felt this way before."
Mark pulled you closer and kissed your forehead. "Me neither. Which is strange because you are JB's mate."
"Is it weird that I don't feel this with the man that is supposed to be the man of my life?" You whispered.
Mark bit your bottom lip and ran his fingers up and down your inner thighs. "We are in troubles if someone finds out." He said.
"My life is a mess." You mumbled, hiding your face against his neck.
Mark laughed and hugged you closer, caressing the back of your head. "My life is beautiful now that you are in it."
