“Why?” It’s not that he doesn’t believe her he’s just generally curious about her response. Most of the time Mark doesn’t do things unless he’s completely sure about them, giving advice however - he thinks he can remain detached because it’s up to the other party to decide their fate. That’s for things less serious, like what to eat, how to live life, career choices, the fate of the world in an apocalypse.

Today’s task involves something a little more serious - disguises.

He’d seen Jiyeon cross the threshold of the shop four times before he decided they needed to upgrade their approach. Running from fans once was enough times in his book and hiding snacks from a manager was another. Scrutiny put a halt on their most simple of plans but he wasn’t going to let it stop them today. 

So he fixes her hat once more, hair tucked into a bun in the back and the mask covering the most visible parts of her face. Mark’s usually this meticulous with things, but for various reasons. “Usually, the worst disguise is the best disguise and honestly I think the donut hoodie is a little too distracting but,” Today it’s a simple principle, relaxation. “we’re gonna go over, ask for two waffle sundaes, and pretend we speak minimal Korean. You and I both need this ice cream.”

“You don’t seem ready at all.”

       “Tch.” Yeonha’s been helpful, she’s been hovering behind him and whispering for about five minutes. She’s trying to psych him out and it won’t work.

        It’s not that he’s not ready it’s just - “It’s been a while,” since he skateboarded. It used to be a daily activity, not just back home but when he first came to Korea. It’s not that he doesn’t do it anymore but the skills gone a little lukewarm since he started. Well, lukewarm would be an understatement. 

      “Waah, I can’t believe I’m letting you talk me into this.” His hands fiddle with the skateboard, night breeze running over his face each time he blinks over the rail. If there’s one thing Mark can’t back down from it’s things that he rests his pride in. Things like dancing, singing, maybe not yet but athletics he didn’t let anyone hold a candle to him. It was more of the pride of the accomplishment than bragging rights. He did like to brag though. Yeonha didn’t have to talk him into anything, the challenge itself was enough to get him to go. The park is usually closed at this time, but like many others he’s found the entrance to sneak in at night and make it to the park. 

      “Alright......I’m going, you better follow right behind or you lose.” And JYP help him if he screws up but he’s hopped on the skateboard and lowering himself into the concrete bowl.
