Murphy's Law

Go on away missions, they said.

It'll be fun, they said.

It had been -- at first. Riley had been thrilled that one of her superiors had chosen her to tag along with the away team, saying that she'd learn a lot from seeing what engineers did off-ship. She knew all of her ship duties inside and out, was one of the most promising -- she was still riding the compliment-high as she stepped onto the transporter.

It was all fun and games until a severe ionic front developed, knocking out both their communication capabilities and their GPS.

And then a snowstorm whipped up out of nowhere, and the team of six had been separated from each other while on their way to the small Federation research team.

And then she'd tripped and rolled down a hill and everything hurt.

To be fair, she only blacked out for a few minutes.

She opened her eyes blearily, scrubbing a hand over her face. "Ow."

OKAY. So The Winter Soldier happens. We all saw that movie, yeah? Good. Basically, SHIELD is just GONE after. Ward ends up killing Agent Hand and joins forces with John Garret who we learn is the clairvoyant the entire time. so coulson orders the team to hand over their shield badges because now shield agents are fugitives from the united states government and skye ends up giving them all new identities. welp. when coulson's putting away his badge he realizes that there are coordinates on it. everyone is telling him to not go where the coordinates are leading because it might be a trap set by hydra but coulson is a firm believer it's a message from fury who was a good shield agent. okay well they end up trekking in the middle of the snow and get to where the coordinates lead and there's nothing. nothing at all and everyone is cold and hungry and a little upset but coulson has a meltdown and throws his badge and BAM a gun starts to shoot the badge. well. a little robot thing comes out and says something and coulson says his name and it's like 'we've been expecting you agent coulson' and a door opens and wowee look at that an underground safe house. all the mean while garrett and ward and the rest of their hydra croonies are raiding the fridge and everything they've confiscated. every 084 every alien weapon because SURPRISE. the slingshot isn't real. it never launches anything in space. meanwhile everyone is getting a little cozier but still on the edge of their seats at the safe house. now agent koeing who's played by patton oswalt says some stuff about how the fridge went down and skye calls grant because he was there and he lies to her face about it all. now back at garret and ward's own little safe house, they're bringing in all the stuff they stole from the fridge. raina says that she can't decrypt the encrypted hard drive that skye did and garret turns to ward and basically tells him to go get skye. now fast forward ward makes it to providence (the safe house) and starts getting cozy and koeing pulls out this INSANE lie detector. i mean insane bro. like it analyzes your eyes your tone of voice and speed like it had a million factors to make sure you weren't lying. and everyone took it and we found out skye's name is mary sue poots from the orphanage but she changed it to skye and she has no last name and may was married once before. and everyone passes and then we see ward last taking it and one of the questions was 'why are you here' and ward falters. he's about to go down. and then he comes up with this fucking half true statement saying he's here because skye. so ward now passes the lie detector when he's working for a hydra operative and then we see him take out like a nail or something out from under his nail. it was very gross. and that's how he beat the lie detector. next may walks out because of some shit between people and then koeing is killed and skye hacks into some government's satellites. 

tbh there's a lot but i'm leaving it here. that's like half way into episode nineteen. watch it and finish up. you're almost at the end of the season.

//OKAY. So technically Follow Friday is a Twitter thing, it's technically Saturday where I am, and I've been MIA for a while.

The defence argument is I AM A TONY STARK MUN. Do rules really apply to either of us.

So fuck that, I'm making some recommendations you should follow.

Harry Watson - Tony's love, a semi-OC with alcohol issues and ever developing depth. The mun is amazing and the character is Moriarty's ex-fiancee and assassin with depth I can only marvel at.

Darcy - Tony's assistant and (though he'd never admit it) protector. Without Darcy, Tony would've been mauled by the press/villains/Harry long ago and he owes her everything - especially a month's holiday and to not have her kids dragged into his shit.

Bones - Oh, how do I begin to speak about Tony's relationship with Bones? Snark. That's the primary word. But with Tony as a patient, albeit unwilling, we see Bones the Doctor and Tony at a disadvantage. You can imagine how little he likes that, right?

Clint - Fellow Avenger, and omg, if I could stay online long enough, these two would be like animals in heat. The most innocent exchange becomes outright flirting and FUCK ironHawk AU would be beckoning if Tony wasn't such a fuckup.

Benji Dunn - Tech bro, with surprisingly real friendship underneath, Tony trusts Benji. Enough to show him new plans - which is usually his friendship kryptonite. Tony's go-to consult (and ersatz engineering babysitter, I like to think.)

Irene Adler - Flawless Irene, and also Pepper Potts, the mun has been nothing but lovely and RPs (especially with a Tony/Pepper dynamic) have been allowed to develop away from canon and explore the friendship between the two.

If I RP with you and I've missed you, don't take it as a slight. I have been SERIOUSLY unreliable and these people have chosen to stand by me despite that. You are still amazing to me <3

He wishes he could go back and tell his ten year old self that one day he'll be (accidentally) picked up by a spaceship enough that it'll actually get annoying. Feeling the familiar tug in his chest as the reactor once again registers its own annoyance at being dragged off of the planet, he trudges the now familiar route to the sickbay.]

Doctor Cornfed. Been a while, huh? You can stop your southern belle pining, I've come home to Tara just like I promised y'all.

[He's grinning as he pulls himself up to sit on one of the beds, reaching over to toy with the hi-tech looking piece of equipment sitting on one of the trolleys.] 

Shouldn't you be up on the bridge with Captain Baby Blues and Sherlock Holmes Mark II? Not that I'm not, y'know, delighted that you're here to stop my chest exploding yet again.
