THATS NOT A FUNNY JOKE THATS NOT A FUNNY JOKE
Oh she is STUNNING
Let's Dance ...
Been awhile. All fluff. A little blonde angst (you know the blonde I speak of!)
James and I have been together for close to five years. I was working as their catering coordinator when we met. I turned that position over to Clara as James doesn’t want me working. Well, for him. Directly. So I float around the massive stadiums while James does what he needs to – soundchecks … interviews … shows.
One afternoon after lunch, James smooches me as he heads down to the tuning room to warm up before soundcheck. I watch him – well, his ass – as he leaves Catering lighting up a cigar as he turns into the hallway. Heaving a sigh, I turn back to my plate.
When I’m done, I clear my plate – along with James’ – to the bin at the end of the counter. As I walk out of catering, I watch Richard – one of the riggers – ahead of me. He’s literally dancing down the hallway. “Nice pivot turn!” I applaud.
Richard stops and turns to me “You dance?”
As I continue down the hallway toward him “You seem shocked.”
“I kinda am!” as he takes my hand, pulling me into frame. We waltz down the hallway as the boys start screaming onstage with Bellz. We stop as we get past the crowd control barricades. “Dang woman! You good!”
I drop him a curtsey, “Why thank you!” As I stand, we both start snickering.
Over the weeks, Richard and I dance every chance we get. Down hallways. In catering. On the field.
One afternoon, Richard is up in a tower checking on the speakers and lighting gear as there were some high winds last night. I walk out to the field with James – who gives me a smooch before turning to go collect a guitar for soundcheck. I meander into the Pit. Richard descends from inside a lint roller – as the rig is affectionately called. He waves to me when he lands on the platform.
The boys launch into Puppets, followed by Sandman chased by Bells. They end with Lux. Richard comes up behind me after Kirk’s solo in Lux, grabs my arm and flips me out in a spin. We launch into a Quick Step with Metallica as our orchestra. We end breathing hard and giggling. I look up … and watch James storm off the stage.
I look at Richard giving him a very wonky look. “I better go.”
“I’m sorry ….” Richard starts.
“Don’t” I point to Richard. “We have done nothing wrong.”
Richard nods “mmk.”
“I’m going to go smack that six foot one blonde upside the head.” I turn from the pit and walk quickly towards his room. I can see him ahead of me. He’s storming. Head down. Fingers clenching and unclenching. He slaps both fists into the door slamming it open.
That action pisses me off. Not sure why. But it does.
As I blow into his room slamming the door closed behind me “What the fuck James! What is wrong with you?”
“Me?” he roars spinning on me. “What the hell are you doing? Flirting with Richard! Right in front of me!”
“What?”
“You’ve been flirting with Richard for weeks! Now you do it right in front of me!” I lean on the back of a chair giggling. “You think it’s funny?”
“James” I reply with a much calmer voice. “I’m not flirting with Richard. James. Richard is married.”
He flairs at me “That barely stopped me.”
“James, Richard is not interested in me.” That takes all the wind out of his sails. But I can see that I can’t beat around the bush on this. “James. Richard is married … to Scott. They have been married for a decade.” Total shock on James’ face. “They don’t flaunt it. They understand that some people just don’t get it.” I watch as the blonde hidden by silver hair rock god processes. “Does that change your opinion of them?”
“No” but pointing towards the stadium floor “What the hell was that then?”
I giggle some more “A quick step.”
“A what?” he’s calmer.
“James, come here” as I shift to sit on the table. Begrudgingly he walks closer. I let my fingers gently take his wrist “James, I dance with Richard because no one else will.”
He gives me a look. “You like to dance?”
Nodding, “I do. And so does Richard.” I take James’ other hand “But like you, Scott can’t dance.” I get a super wounded look from James. I caress his arms “You are an amazing guitarist. A stunning lyricist. I love you. But” I give him a wonky grin “You dance like a four-year-old.”
He looks at me. “I guess I do. Huh?” a small smile building under his mustache.
Smiling, I tug him a little closer “James, when I am in frame with Richard ….”
“What?” his eyebrows knit together.
“Frame.” I put his right hand high on my back about my shoulder blade. “Don’t pull. Just rest it there.” I hold out my right arm hand flexed. “With your left hand take mine and push.” He almost pushes me into the wall. “oops!” I giggle as we recover. “Press against my hand” as I wiggle my right fingers. I press against his hand. Then I grab his right bicep with my left fingers, my back automatically straightening some. “This is frame.” I reach back and pat his left forearm “This arm holds me so that when we spin I don’t go flying to the floor.” I can tell James is processing. He is still a blonde after all. I return my left hand to his upper arm. “This” I shake my right hand holding his “keeps me from being flipped on reverse spins. Also keeps Richard from stepping on my toes” as I push back on his arm a little harder. “Lift your elbow” I again shake my right hand. “Better.” I look into his stunning blue eyes. “This .. is frame.”
James looks at the form I am holding him in. “huh.”
Letting the frame down, I wrap my legs around his hips, my heels digging into the backs of his thighs just under his ass and pull. “When Richard and I are in frame” I caress his head with my left hand “This is what I see.” I get another look from James as Richard is black.
“oh.”
I reach up to his head with both hands, making him look at me. Gently shaking his head “This is what I see.”
His hands slide around my back, his arms crushing me into his chest while his lips meet mine. Amazingly gently. My arms slowly wrap around his neck. He leans his forehead on mine “I was being stupid. Huh?”
I lip mustache gently “Liddle bit.”
“I’m sorry.”
I kiss him again. “I forgive you.” I kiss him again. “Not going to stop dancing with Richard again.”
He heaves out a short sigh “mmmk.” Then he looks at me. “What song would you really like to dance to?”
“You won’t like it.”
“What?” he grumbles with a grin.
“Devils Dance.”
“And what would you two dance to that?”
“A Tango.”
He chuckles “I actually know what that is ….. and No.” His eyebrows snap up.
I pull with my legs and again grab his face “This is what I see” I purr at him.
“Maybe” as he picks me up off the table, his lips lifting his mustache in a grin. “Let’s dance” he purrs.
Just some furry ladies cuttin' a rug.
Me: *grooving, totally minding my own business*
John: I swear, if you do not stop I will turn on the gravity and drop you on your ass.
Me: *pretending I didn’t hear him, music is loud* Shake shake shake...
John: I hate Halloween season *pulls up a comm line* Scott, you two are banned from watching movies together for the rest of the month.
@kerired got this stuck in my head... but it's so happy and danceable that I don't mind in the least ☺️😋💃🏻
"The end of 'The Broadway Ballet' brings Gene Kelly back to reality after the 'Crazy Veil Dance'. [...] The hoofer leaves the casino, still dressed in his tuxedo, as the "the camera cranes down and dollies in all the way, the full depth of the set to a medium shot." As he stands alone, depressed, another young hoofer shows up. He obviously fresh in town, dressed similarly to Kelly's own costume earlier in the ballet, and sings 'Gotta Dance!' with heartfelt and renewed passion, emblematic not only of his character but his own personal life and career as well."
