Trespassing to abandoned (or seemingly abandoned. On more than one occasion we had to run fast as fuck n climb over a fence while a screamin adult was chasin us away.) used to be our favorite thing to do as a kit. The body's brothers n us even had fake names we'd call each other by every time we knew we're in an area where somebody might see us so in case someone overheard us talkin, they wouldn't know who we were. Surprisingly smart for kids who had the great ideas to play "let's see who can stay out in the snow with no shirt on the longest" or "I'm gonna jump onto a mattress from a roof" around the same time.
For a couple years we had a "base" which was an abandoned wooden shed behind a church, that we dragged a bunch of discarded furniture to.
I already want to write drabbles of the Laufey game help. Not x reader or anything, just what Faye was doing before she died and before meeting Kratos and in the after life yk yk?? I'm just excited asf
"'Fate', as you may have come to know, is equal parts cruel and kind- for every act of good, there is an act of evil. Black-and-white, light and dark, salt and pepper- what have you."
"This is a false assumption. For the Immortal, there is no fairness, or justice, or sin, or malice. They, together, form a misaligned half-truth- that there must be reason for things to happen as they do."
"I know it to be inaccurate through various explanations- many of which you'd fail to believe. Thus, I defer to the most blatant absence of reason that I may conceive."
'Gowl'.
"A hungering fiend that has persisted as long as blood has hidden behind mortal flesh. Through blinding, torturous desire; they carve their prize out of its sanctuary, letting meat run through mangled innards and mottled fur to one day find the ground again."
"Driven by instinctive conviction,
They are a flawless killer-
A hunter of hunters."
"They are not evil, but necessary. An example: were civilization to collapse tomorrow, and all humanity to war against one-another, it would only last so long in the presence of Gowl. Regardless of what differences they might've created through twisted language, Gowl will naturally, hastily dismiss their claims by way of violence."
"Now, you might be thinking to yourself 'well, that just sounds like a perfectly good reason for them to exist'. And you'd be correct, in some way..."
"But, consider...
Why must they hunger so deeply?
Why must they feel pain?
Why must they be alone?"
"'Fate' would have this creature suffer for eternity in the event that the impossible occurs. An unnecessary precaution resulting in endless, myriad torment."
"A victim of existence... surely deserving of some mercy beyond it."
They come to feast; drowned by madness and hunger.
They wish to continue.
They expect forgiveness.
They believe it is their choice to make.
It is unkind.
It is unjust.
I do not want to be eaten.
I do not want to be gone.
But how do I make them stop?
How do I make amends without giving away my life?
They would steal all I have...
So, instead, I will give it to them.
I will let them understand their evil.
They may have my eyes, that I cannot witness their treachery.
They may have my ears, that I cannot hear their apologies.
They may have my arms, that I will never embrace them.
They may have my legs, that they may run twice as fast.
They may have my heart, that it may beat twice as quickly.
But I will keep my soul. I will eat it in front of them.
In a previous post, the three responses have been interpreted as below:
"Belief is warm, like joy or spring.
Doubt burns, like hatred or acid.
Froar is Cold, like tundra or grief."
While this may seem silly, it is reflected in World in more ways than one. Joy is to embrace what someone is, and doubt is to refute it. Observations of good and evil originate from these basic concepts, regardless of what interpretation they originated from.
But good is not the opposite of evil in this world- not truly. That conflict is what keeps the world ticking, believe it or not.
Without contradiction, the World would cease, and the Absolute End would take its place.
Gowl, one of the savage Mar'ugal, is a creature birthed to wield that terrible power. Froar is a power that seeks only to remove- not destroy, leaving shards for the world to find, but to obliterate in their entirety. To accomplish this, they were created with the Unreal Potential to control this power- to forsake everything.
Abaddon Cry, to the average mortal, seems no more complex than Frost Breath- a magical ability possessed by some of the more fantastic beasts of the world and some scholarly wizards with too much time on their hands. In reality, it is more closely related to the dark of space.
With little more than the desire to remove another, the Mar'ugal breath air so devoid of warmth and purpose that it renders the affected region not frozen, but completely inactive. Deeper than any paralysis or stasis, the afflicted area becomes the origin point for life to be consumed by something less than death.
In minutes, a being without a Ryeas is rendered down into nothingness, all potential consumed by null. Those with a Ryeas are capable of resisting the effects, but only briefly. Enough for the realization of danger to set in, and for a reaction to take place if their will to survive is great enough.
Gowl dislikes using this ability unless necessary. Omen has advised to avoid usage against those protected by Lásame mioré, and Gowl himself cannot consume that which has been taken. It is an ultimate last resort- one that only a sorrowful few will ever witness firsthand.
