at the door - a midnight visit

so, after orchard regains his consciousness, he returns to his now abandoned family home. he puts on old moth-eaten clothes and decides to go pay the neighbours a visit, ask what’s going on, where his family is, and so forth... not knowing it’s been decades since his family was around. he’s greeted by the recently moved in neighbour, grípr.
