Literally the cadence of Gideon's steps reminded me of the timpani beats that emphasize Phantom's steps down the staircase in the "Why So Silent?" scene, so I HAD TO make this🎭🐍Both men having slow & dramatic entrances is 💯✨️

🎭🥀PHANTOM VICE🐍🕊
Grace Ashcroft/Christine Daae
Victor Gideon/Phantom
To finish posting my current batch of non-POTO musical edits of RE9, here is Victor x Grace with "Belle" from Beauty and the Beast🌹✨️ I was cackling while I made this. In my head I was thinking about Victor watching Grace through his security cameras, musing about His Special Grace being So Adorable, So Cute, So Endearing as she skittishly scampers around his care center like a silly lil rabbit in a giant enclosure...all the while Grace is FIGHTING FOR HER GODDAMN LIFE against Victor himself and all the zombies out there and TO HER IT'S NOT FUCKIN CUTE OR FUNNY😅🤣 This is actually one of the most liked edits on my TT page🫣
This other side of the coin, Grace's "Burn" to Victor's "Burn", was challenging to make. I really did not want to trim up Phillipa Soo's gorgeous vocal performance. But I found a way to do it so the video remained under one minute, while also feeling mostly satisfied with the audio splicing. I wanted to keep the integrity of both the breathtaking tonal buildup of Phillipa Soo's vocal performance and also Grace's coinciding story highlighted within the segments of the song I chose to keep versus trim/discard.
This is not meant to be a ship edit this time, but a representation of Grace's courageous journey pushing against the overarching path & role that had been forced upon her since she was a baby.
When I hear this song, it sounds like Grace REMOVING herself as a "player" in delusional mens' capitalistic games and the history/"progress" they're forcing her to take part in creating, and ALSO forcing her personhood & agency as an equal "player" to be KNOWN, contrasting the evil mens' suffocating idolization & objectifying possessiveness toward her.
🤍🪽Here is the longer form "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again" Grace & Alyssa edit that fully encapsulates what I wanted it to be, before trimming the copyrighted music down under 1 min for TT.
In honor of my late Dad for Father's Day, I made this edit of Grace & Alyssa Ashcroft with "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again" from Phantom of the Opera. It was very cathartic...I wanna hug Grace tightly and cry with her.
Below is the TikTok trimmed version because it is picky AF with music clips
