They'd been friends as children, though Castiel's father had elected to move the family once he turned ten, so they'd grown apart. The youngest Novak of course, growing up to similar to his brother Gabriel and Lucifer [in appearance at least], despite his father's wishes.

Smiling widely, Castiel pushed a hand through his mop of dark hair before striding over to the woman and sticking a hand out to her. He really hoped this was Astrid, otherwise he'd feel like a fool.
