#tag problems

call me privileged for this but I think people should not be tagging their posts about real world horrors with irrelevant fandom tags.

fandom tags are for well…fandoms. Not for posts about real world horrors.

there is a time and a place to talk about real world issues. Fandom spaces and tags are not those places and should not be considered those places.

You're trying to tag a user on one of your fics when you discover the tag doesn't work.

Your first thought may be they changed their URL, or maybe they deactivated their account.

There's a third (not so) secret possibility:

The user you're trying to tag has their visibility settings toggled to prevent searches of their URL on Tumblr.

Here's how to fix.

Keep in mind this is what the tagged user has to do, not the person doing the tagging.

Go to the gear icon, go to account settings:

Click on Visibility:

Make sure "Hide [url] from search results" is toggled off:

do you remember how long it took for your posts to start appearing in tags bc ive been here for like a few days now and they still won’t pop up. i looked it up and i still don’t know why they won’t show in any tags

hmm im not sure, i wasnt paying too much attention at the time. it might have something to do with verification but i dont think so.

the only thing i can think of is to make a post and check the tag's recent posts. my only other guess is its a part of tumblrs defence against spam bots to have an account reach a certain age before showing their posts in tags.

anyone know how long it takes for new user's posts to show in the tags?

Hey anyone else has a problem of tags that go cryptic as you type them ? Lemme give you an exemple.

It's extraordinarily annoying. I can erase the extra word parts but it takes forever ! (I don't remember anything weird happening to my phone...)

You know guys I just LOVE it when authors writes Fem!reader fics and DON'T put it on the mf tags so even though you blocked all kinds of female reader tags they still pop up on your page

Let me tell you if you're that kind of author that it won't make me appreciate you and your work

I have a big problem with tumblr, my tags do not appear anymore. Frankly I'm bored, it's not the first time I've had this problem, but this time I can't do anything about it, I've tried every possible solution, nothing works. My blog is not censored and I don't think I can say that I am someone who spams. Frankly, I don't understand and I'm fed up.

I sent a message to the support contact. I hope to be able to solve the problem soon...
