#grad student problems

My professor canceled class because people’s final projects were flagged for using AI. I’m a bit concerned as this was a creative project which involves the same style I write in fics. I know my works have been scraped by different programs so I’m afraid that I’m “plagiarizing myself.” However, I don’t know if my script was flagged or not. I want to explain this to her, but I REALLY don’t want to have to reveal my ao3 username. I fucking hate AI and it would be super upsetting to be accused of using it. 😭

Fact 1: I am done with my quals cause I passed two at my previous PhD program.

Fact 2: Approximately all of my friends (here, in the department) are preparing for their quals since they're in a little less than two weeks.

Fact 3: I go insane very quickly if I stay at home long, so I've been going into the office anyways

Fact 4: I had a nightmare that in addition to the general hellishness of a five hour exam, that quals were in a large, crowded lecture room. And yes, that I needed to take them. Goddamnit. I don't think I had any qual-related nightmares when I was taking my own

Me, explaining how DEs office hours go: Yeah so you go to his office hours with confusion--i.e. questions--and you do get your questions answered at some point, but he also says a lot of other things so you leave with new confusion.

As per usual every few months, it looks like my planned video is going to be postponed, and by extension all the others I had planned after it. This is why YouTubers are typically ex-grad students instead of current ones.
